Alright I installed HKS hypermax coilovers and there are only two rings/sleeves. I am used to a third ring which pulls the piston in to lower the car in other coils I have used before. Do I just lower the rings? I thought that adjusts the spring preload and is not the correct way to lower the car. This is an older picture.

its not that its incorrect; there are just more factors you have to consider with a single height adjustable set up.

lowering the spring seat will eat up your suspension travel, changes where the range of operation for the shock, and can cause potential loose spring during extension if you don't have a helper spring. this is only bad if you lose so much travel you are bottoming out the shock, the shock isn't designed to operate in the range you've set, etc.

i don't really know hks coilovers, but just be looking at the pic, it seems like the rears are single adjustable with helper springs. fronts look like they may be dual. can't really tell from the picture.

He's right. Those are single-adjustable.

No way to change ride height without changing suspension travel.

Yup, only lowering the spring perch can adjust the ride height. Keep it at a very "moderate" drop and you'll be fine.

Yep I have them on my beater and hate them they are bouncey as hell. And can't lower them too much or the springs get loose. I hate them.
