Hi there,

New member here, picked up a Redtop 91 Hicas yesterday with a whole heap of extra goodies. (see the list below) Cost me 3g's for a CLEAN bodied car with some serious parts. The bad, no compression on one cylinder. So I was planning a rebuild anyways. Basically I really want a car set up for drifting and the occasional drag run. But I have a feeling the turbo is going to be too laggy to be effective for drifting.

So i have a couple o questions (i read faqs all over the web but i wanna be sure before i start ordering parts)

1. No PS on the car. Don't want Hicas so, Sr20det non-hicas bkt, ka24de pump, sr20det pulley/belt. Ka24de lines, reservoir etc? Will buy a HICAS eliminator as well.

2. No AC on the car, can I use the KA24DE compressor? I've read mixed results.

3. Will this turbo be too laggy for a drift car? Im thinking hell yes but I wanted to hear from some experts. Its fairly new so I can always unload it for me more drift approved turbo.

4. On the rebuild, does a list exist for all gaskets needed minus the HG. I dont want to pay some coin for the OEM rebuild kit only to spend another 130+ on a HG. And I cant find a list.

This car needs to be pretty thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together, basically completely overhauled, but thats why its a project. I just wanted to make sure about some things. I know it has every supporting part needed for a serious build I just need to get started soon.

Thanks for the help...Im sure some of these questions have been beat to death before.
