I'm sure this post has come up 9,384,754,985 times before, but I'm new to the board and with a brief search through the forum I couldn't find the answer anywhere. I was just wondering what the basic upgrade path is with the s14 Blacktop SR20DET motor. If someone could list EVERYTHING I would need to reach the 400rwhp mark I would REALLY appreciate it! Thanks!

Also, where is the best place to buy a complete s14 blacktop swap? I was thinking about going with Heavy Throttle just because I know they have an awesome reputation and I would get what I paid for. Any other ideas? Thanks again!

I might be wrong, but 400 rwhp seems like a pretty big number for an sr20. I could see maybe mid 300s but 400 seems really high Considering the blacktop comes stock with what 220hp. But again i could be wrong so...

well considering Phase 2 motorsports just recently made 503hp to the rear wheels with a stock bottom end SR I dont think 400 is unreasonable. back that up with enjuku, silent sports, and jspecs cars all making 450+ to the rear wheels on stock bottom ends and the ctc motorsports cars making 400+ easily with their bolt on kits. I would have to say your wrong here :D

you wanna make 400hp? big turbos big injectors. its not like its a big secret. get it tuned right.

my suggestion though? drive it at 220 for awhile first. have you ever ridden in anything with 250rwhp? my thoughts are if your gonna have to pay a shop to swap it in you;ve never driven anything that powerful. get the basic engine in. slowly build up so you can get used to driving so powerful a car. I'd hate to salvage whats left of your ride for parts for mine. ok no I really wouldnt. I'd probably smile the whole time

I actually ment to say 300rwhp... but I think 400rwhp would definitly be obtainable on an sr20det... heck, my friends b18c1 turbo hatch put down 406whp @ 18psi on 94 octane! Its also fully built with a lot of other goodies, but come on its a Honduhhh!

Actuallllly... i just sold my 95' Eclipse GSX, although I couldn't dyno it (no AWD dyno's in Columbus, Ohio) I would say it put down a little more then 205 whp. It also ran a 13.5 @ 99mph on 15psi and stock t-25. Now you say, "oh well you're probably not used to rwd then." At this point I laugh and explain my dad owns a 93 5.0 (license plate EET RYCE) putting down 300rwhp. So to answer your questions, yes i've driven a car or 2 with a little more power then a stock sr20det swap. I also know all the bpu's for most cars, I was just hoping to get some extra special performance & tuning tricks or best products used tricks and tips. I'm new to the sr20det, not to cars. And BTW... I will be doing the swap myself.

550cc injectors, a nice t3/t04e, a Big nasty intercooler, and your in the 400's.

CTC, and Enjuku both make 400hp bolt on kits. :P

Yes that topic has come up quite a bit.
Try to make your brief search a hair more in depth. The search engine isn't anyone's mommy. It won't do the work for you. Not only that, it's searching through differently named and sometimes misspelled topics. Try it a bit harder. Work it. Put your thing down, flip it and reverse it.

good you got some credintials :) 300 400 are actually pretty simple with the SR. and if your starting with the S14 motor your alot closer. I've seen basically stock swaps with FMIC and upped boost make 267. bigger injectors (550 should be fine) 300 MAFS, FMIC, FMU, SAFC. maybe switch out the T28 for a forced performance big28 upgrade. should put you up over 300 easily. show your dads stang a thing or two.

I asked about your experience cause in your first post you asked about the best place to buy a swap. you do a swap you buy a motorset ;) but Im about to put on a 16g onto my SR should get me over 300 when I get more fuel (im at 240 now) :) yummy its sitting here beside me at work.. tempting me to put it on....

Yah it's defintely a rareity to see a 240 around here nice enough to even look twice at. I only know of one locally and all it has is wheels, i/h/e. Do you ever meet up at kmart or any of the Columbus spots? I would love to check out your car and shoot the sh!t.

yea i go to the westerville kmart alot, though not recently because i've been working so much(gotta get the $$ to get the parts) so i haven't been since i got my 240. but actually, if people are there tonight i might go. i usually roll with a beige body kitted accord w/18's and bagged, and a white 4G prelude with c/f hood and black wheels. so if you see them, i'm probably around. my car is a green 95, lowered, exhaust, not much, but its a start
