im taking out the welded diff on my car right now and i cant seem to keep the driveshaft from moving, i took out all the bolts from the axle and now im taking out the bolts that connects the diff to the shaft and when i turn the bolt the shaft moves so it moves the whole thing, ive put the car in gear and the E brake is on but it still moves, (it does move when i turn it by hand when the car isnt in gear and without the e-brake being on but the bolts are so tight its taking the shaft with it when it IS in gear)

^you're ebrake doesnt work or is extremely weak or you just didn't put the bolts back into the axles. Put the bolts back into the axles and have someone step on the brakes to crack them loose.
These bolts are always a bitch for me. Can't get a socket on them so I have to use a broken wrench and a breaker bar.

Next time just side a wedge bar into the rear u-joint and hold the driveshaft in place.
