Driveshaft too long?? Type X blacktop in 92 hatch

I have a non abs 92 hatch with a 98 s13 blacktop going in. I slid the driveshaft into the tranny and when I lifted it to meet with the diff its just a little bit to long. I think I may have read somewhere that I need a 89-90 non abs DS. Does anyone know?

I have that exact setup and it works for me. Did you take off that collar?

I just slid the part of the DS that they left in the tranny off but that big black collar is still on there. Im guessing thats what I need to remove. I didnt only because I thought it fully seated without touching that haha.

If I remember right your suppose to put the ka one on there
