I have a ka24e that has a mean ass rattling sound and need help on what anyone thinks it may be? Its a higher sounding rattle coming from the valve cover front. Im thinking its the timing belt now. I have tried to take off my belts and retighten the pulleys, look for loose parts, checked my valves, etc. Even going as far as getting a new exhaust(it was stock and I needed that anyways). I was wondering does anyone know how to adjust the timing chain? Or should I just get a new one?

Timing chain. There is no timing belt.
More than likely your upper chain guide is making the noise. However since the car is two decades old, and the internet isn't far behind, you could actually do your own research since any conceivable question you have has already been answered here.

Yea mine was doing that and I took off the timing chain guide - because I was thinking of what people do to the sr - for god sake's don't do that lol. Now I gotta pull my block apart and replace the timing chain and reset the timing lol (I was going to rebuild anyway so this also gave me excuse to get to work ;)). But yea the guide is metal unlike the sr's plastic guide so it will rattle constantly making you think something is wrong with it but nothing is so don't worry ;). But as long as the car is running right there should be no need for a replacement. If it's starting to run excessively rich then you should change the timing chain and you know it's due to engine timing based on your timing gun that you should own....
