Well, I got my old ka24e out of the 240. Thurazor came over today and helped me degrease my engine bay too, so that looks totally sweet. It looks brand new again! I'll get some pics of that soon, but for now, here's a (crappy) shot of the engine coming out.

What engine are you putting back in its place? Wish I could do the same :p

You're putting in a CA right, or do you have a car with a CA, I juss know you always talk about CAs
You know you can resize those pic lol

Yeah, I know I could resize it, I just figured it's more of a pain to click on a link to see fullsize than it is to have the forum distort a bit.

I've been scrubbing the crap out of my wife's engine bay for the past few days.. I guess I'll post a before and after pic. I found that Berryman's Brake Cleaner and Castrol Super Clean are pretty much the best stuff you can use on tough grease. I want to drop the subframe sooo badly to clean it, but I don't have the time to. :(

What about Simple Green? Isn;t it supposed to clean just about anything...?
Some of my friends swear by it (they've all won 1st place one or more times at major shows).....

Personally I've been using engine brite and the grease just seems to melt off. I had a bad valve cover gasket too, so there's quite a bit to get through :)

Careful with the CSC though, as it eats right through paint if left on long enough.

Absolutely Bill. I'm parting out my entire engine actually:
"parting out 1990 ka24e (sohc) engine 127k miles"
(http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29531) so anyone that wants something, just let me know. I'm willing to let parts go fairly cheap because I need it to move.

Not a concern for me. I'm repainting the engine bay. Thanks, though!

Maybe I'll just use that instead of sanding when it comes to my paint job.

Damn dude what's the megapixels on that camera? Return that piece of garbage. If you plan on getting good pics of that engine bay you have to use a good camera! That bay is ****ing gorgeous now. Most of the grease, oil, and dirt either went on the shop towels or my pants. :D

Very nice, I want to try the carbon fiber engine bay thing. I'm in highschool so i think it would be cool for me to have a s14 drift machine ;-D
