I completely agree. I believe that tire stretching is pretty tacky but I thought it was funny that NZ is actually doing something about it. Only a matter of time til CA does it too. :bowrofl:

I got yelled at by a cop once who was comparing my tires to the ones on his crown vic. he told me what if that popped off on the freeway and you plowed into a van with a family full of kids. do you think thats safe. it looks like its gonna come off just sitting here!!!

it was just a 215 40 federals on a 9.5

in all my experiences of stretching tires I have never had one come off while driving or drifting for that matter.

solution: have such flush fitment that your fenders rub the numbers off the sidewall :hsdance: Then you can tell em whatever size you want.

what's not against the law in CA. I am surprised they aren't getting pulled over for not driving a prius.

I run whatever tires I get for free on the rear stretched or not and then normal sizes on the front.

my neighbor got pulled over in his prius. the idiot cop thought the tail lights were "modified" cause they're clear til my neighbor pointed one out stopped at the light in front of him lol
