ERgh... you know there are BIG differences between car and motorcycle helmets.... Motorcycle helps are rated for single impact where as car helmets are made for multiple impacts... Dunno if you car, but there are differences....
go to SafeRacer - Auto Racing Safety Equipment, Auto Racing Gear, Auto Racing Helmets, Auto Racing Suits (http://www.saferacer.com) they have great deals all the time and major sponsor for NASA....

I've always loved my Bell M2 Pro. I'm not sure if they make it anymore but it has wide eye openings which is nice because I like to wear sunglasses underneath. I believe it's also made of carbon kevlar so it's strong and lightweight. I hate heavy helmets. Mine cost around $420 back in the day when I got it on clearance. I think the contemporary Bell model is called the M4 pro.

What you should do is go to a place that sells helmets and try them all on. Simpson, Bell Arai, etc all fit differently even though they all might be 7 and 1/2" helmets. Find which one is most comfortable to you, then go through their product range. Make sure you get a helmet with an SA rating as it will be approved for car motor sports applications.

yes. My cheap hjc fits different than my friends arai. The arai hugs yor face more and gives a more stable feeling. Both helmets are the same size

i would also check with ur local event holder to seeif there ok with u using a bike helmet...some dont allow it for the for mentioned reasons, some are careless and you can slip thru with no worries...its on you...its ur head...

In the motorcycle industry they are ok , most people do not buy them. Uhm i have there car helmet only reason i have was because i payed 150 for it from my old work. Any motorcycle shop that carries fulmer can get you the car helmet.

I can;t believe were so far into a helmet thread with no mention of Snell ratings?
"SA" and "M" ratings...
You want a SA2005...SA for automotive use, fire rated, multiple impact. M2005 is a motorcycle helmet, and only good for autocross and smaller auto events.
They are only good for 10 years after the date...but the SA2010's come out later this year, so maybe you can find a deal on a close-out SA2005.
....and remember, "$50 helmet for a $50 head". Buy something quality, from a reputable company.
