oil filter able to filter?

ok so i sandblasted my valve cover for my sr20, and tried to blow most of the metallic sand stuff off thinking i got most of it out, but i didn't... theres a little bit of metallic sand particles resting on the top of my motor, will the oil filter be able to filter all that s*** out once it gets to the bottom? or should i put oil in it, start the engine, drive it a little bit then change the oil again?
the sand is magnetic btw!

you didnt mask off the bottom of the valve cover?
