ok so today i go to turn my crack pully to see if it turned ok, it seemed to turn fine then all of a sudden it would just stop, like something is hitting inside the tranny? its out of gear and ebrake is off... what could it be? i thought it could of been the starter causing the sudden stop, but i took it off, and its still stopping...

if its simply getting really fucking hard to turn, thats you fighting the compression of the motor. (you can remove spark plugs and then turn to see if this is the case)

no its not getting hard, it literally just stops, like it sounds like something is hitting in the bellhousing, but i don't see what it could be hitting in there?

ok people dont just randomly go outside and say"hmm im going to turn my crank pulley"

whats the reason your even trying? did the engine knock and quit or did the clutch break or what?

little(or lot) more info would be good.

What have you done to the engine recently? Which engine is it?

Edit: The poster above beats me to it. If it is an SR, and you've been messing with the timing chain then there's a "pin" on the front-cover that may be preventing you from cranking it. IIRC, these pins prevents the chain from dropping off during disassembly of the cylinder head. If you force it then one of these pins will snap off. I don't know if these are the same on the KA.

sr20det! no im in the process of a swap! and the valve cover is off, so i was also looking to make sure my cams are nice and clean

but i found the problem!!

my slave cylinder bolts were wayyyy to long and they were hitting the pressure plate, thank god i was getting ready for yank the motor out.....

don't you just love when you find out what the problem is?

but when you don't find out you just feel like shit the rest of the time till you figure it out..

hmm thanks for the input guys!

They do. I've heard of that happening once before but it's so rare to put different bolts in place I didn't think of it.
