I removed my charcoal canister and they was a hardline running all the way to the fuel tank so I just bloacked it off by putting a screw in the hose ... is tat ok or should I put a breather filter on it

That's a vent, and it needs to be left open.

Leave that line open. Its the breather line. don't plug It up
