ok i think i need a new catalytic converter. I checked out some sites and i saw them goin for like 100 bucks. is that a normal price for a cat? i figured theyd b alot cheaper. where i can find one for cheaper? i heard that you cant get them from junk yards, is that true?

go on ebay and do a search for 240sx test pipe... its not exactly a cat, its a straight pipe that will replace it, i think they are like 30 bucks or so. ive got one, you notice a little more top end power.

damn i wish i could run a stright pipe. i havent registered the car yet and i need it to pass smog first, so basically ive just been fixing everything thats broken on the car. instead of replacing the cat, cant you just gut it? would that cause too much turbulance since it kinda bulges out bigger? well thanks anyways. stupid CA smog:mad:

Heres what you need to do. Go to your nearest auto store, get some straight exhaust pipe that just slightly smaller than the inside diameter of your cat, set the pipe inside the cat, lay a block of wood on the end of the pipe and drive it though the cat with a hammer, the end result will be a straight though pipe inside your cat. a camouflaged testpipe .:)

There is a reason for having a cat. Plus, your not going to gain much if any from a straight pipe unless your car is heavily modified anyway. So, you'd just be killing the enviroment! Anyway, try here:

I'm pretty sure it'll fit KA or an SR.....anyway good luck!
