Here's the scenario...

I was changing my spark plugs and one of them was covered in oil. I thought it odd because the car has been running smooth with no problems.

Is it possible that my valve cover gasket has gone bad?

Anyone have any suggestions or opinions?

was there oil on the part of the plug that was inside the combustion chamber? or where the plug boot goes?

if there was UNBURNT oil on bottom of plug it'd be misfiring or atleast smoking... if on the boot you need to replace the spark plug valley gaskets. i'd do the whole valve cover your taking it off already. then would be a good time to paint it too if you so choose... clean the baffles too.

Just get a whole new valve cover gasket kit, they r like 30 bucks. They have the grommets u need and if u don't need a valve cover gasket just hold on to the new one, my old car had the same thing, but I just bought the grommets n ended up paying just about 20 bucks so it's cheaper to just buy the whole kit

buy some rocker arm stoppers if your SR... i personally dislike pulling off my cover so do it all... hell get some cams too, eh your there some head studs, well since the heads off a head gasket, well the head is off... dropp the bottom end swap it... motors out paint the bay rewire and mounts...........see it gets worse....
