View Full Version : Removing ABS

After the SR20DET swap and the Z32 front brake conversion, my S13 lost ABS functionability. The ABS actuator was kept though, with all the hard lines, but I only used 2/3 ports on the proportional valve.

I want to completely remove my ABS actuator, and swap out my ABS hard lines for the non-ABS hard lines.

I have read about removing the actuator, keeping the ABS lines, and purchasing this part from Courtesy Parts:

CON-BRAKE- :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com (http://www.courtesyparts.com/con-brake-p-233547.html)

Part #02463-13100

That basically turns this: (ABS actuator removed, ABS hard lines)

How well does this work? It's a band-aid solution to my problem...

I can't find any vendor who manufactures OEM-replacement non-ABS hard brake lines. Bending my own hardlines would be my next option.

Ripping 20 year old non-ABS hard lines out of a car in a junkyard isn't what I plan on doing.

Advice? Thanks

I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work a lot of cars have t-blocks like this from the factory to split the single brake line into the left and right brakes. Other than being ugly this should work fine. Just don't kink any of the hardlines when you move them in position. Also make sure you're connecting the correct line together.
