S14 has around 168K on it. I try to keep the motor in tip top shape as possible staying on top of my oil change, fuel filter, plugs etc. Then I got to thinking since the car has been in my ownership for about 3-3.5 yrs now (got it with 115k on it) I never replaced the water or oil pump. Now I know the KA is not a high dollar motor, but mine suits me just fine and has been pretty reliable. Was wondering if it was a good idea to have both pumps replace, and how hard is the oil pump to replace in particular?

Was thinking of doing the water regardless cause its the cheapest, and its been probably about year and half since my coolant has been changed. So I figure why not kill 2 birds with one stone. Just looking for some opinions, I don't have current motor trouble or anything.

eh, you gotta drop the oil pan, and take the whole front lower cover of the motor off...

if it doesn't need to be done i wouldn't do it. especially with that many miles on it.

i'd wait on the oil pump to when you're rebuilding the motor.

if you don't see any seepage out of the weep hole of your water pump, i wouldn't replace it either....but it's pretty easy to do if you just wanna do it for the sake of doing it, it'd probably take you an hour or two tops.

Thanks a lot for the info..I'll wait on the oil and consider the water if I have the money to blow when I'm ready to flush my coolant
