Hey guys. I have a bunch of junk metal and other stuff just sitting around at my house. Jacked up fenders, hoods, suspension parts, wiring harnesses, brake rotors, and a shell that has absolutely nothing on it. Is there a recycling place or something that you know of that will take any or all of these things? Will they pay for it? What do most of you guys do with this kind of stuff?

Wait for my local (usually Mexican) metal collectors to stop by and take it away for me. It's pretty convenient. The Mexican side of me is too lazy to bother hauling it to the metal junkyards. :p

CrimsonRockett takes his metal to the yards, you should talk to him.

haha! I see them just stare at my garage for a few good seconds when I'm out on the weekend working on my car. I know they want to just ask if they can have all that shit. lol.

I'm kinda sure this applies to CA as well (i'm from AZ), well it depends, certain places will pay for scrap metal, and some places will just collect it from you.

1. you bring it down to the scrap metal yard ...they pay you .10 to the dollar for your metal...eg, aluminum wheel 17" = $10, engine block maybe $50-100, OE cat $50-$70, aftermarket cat $10-20, shell with title $100-$150 (note: AZ prices, not sure if it's cheaper here in CA)

2. they come by and collect it...free service for them to pick up...they don't pay you

you can probably look up scrap yards willing to pay on craigslist under services..or google scrapyards in your zipcode and call them to find out..

Weld a Transformer together with all scrap metal and put it in your front yard.

Thanks for your input. Anyone know of a scrap metal yard in the 626/909?

I'm sure my neighbors would appreciate that. lol.

I really gave up on hauling it myself. You barely get any money for it.

Call up this guy.

Cesar - 323-691-9376

Won't give you money for the stuff, but he'll gladly take everything. He'll even cut up your chassis too.

He's come by twice with me so far.

LOL. That's crazy. I guess taking all that stuff away for free isn't bad either. At least I won't have to haul it anywhere.

Johnny, what would I do with the tittle and stuff?
