I got my sr with a bad turbo but its on the car now running theres no smoke or anything like that it just doesn't spool or anything an i plan on driving from Long Island to Ohio with it this weekend..Anyone see any issues with this or damage it could cause?

Horrible idea. If the turbo decides to let go the wheels could chip or shatter and send nice shiny bits of material into the engine. Or the journal bearing could give way and dump all your oil out of the exhaust. Lots of people have tried to get by with dead turbos and never made it. I wouldn't trust it either.

I mean if you hate your engine then go for it.

I mean if you hate your engine then go for it.

Exactly, why would you think this would be a good idea?!? Drive something else and fix the engine properly...

shell out 100 now for a properly working t25 now to save you hundreds to maybe even thousands later.

If you're not gonna boost and its not leaking coolant or oil, fucking drive it. Just dont try to push it.

t25's are stupid cheap. If you have some spare cash, get a new one. If not......suck it up dont boost and drive it.

if you really have to drive. dont boost and drive normal. go to a junk yard and go look for a t25 . you can find them cheap. good luck

Well i was driving around local yesterday getting some stuff taken care of before i left and noticed the turbo spooling up an the BOV releasing which it was not doing earlier but i still drove it without letting it boost or anything and had a friend look at it. Later we got on it a little and everything seems fine it's boosting properly no oil, smoke or anything abnormal...Maybe it was just frozen from sitting so long? I have no idea maybe not beating on it let everything flow through and loosened it up? Either way im just happy its working fine..

I bought the motor set in June or July this past summer an was away for the military an just got it put together an got it back about three days ago so who knows how long it really sat for before it got to me..It had no other issues though besides a frozen clutch but the motor started up on the first try with no issues.

for all those people saying dont boost and drive normal...you ever drive a car with a blown turbo? Just curious, driven a few and even driving normal the cars wouldnt get up to anywhere near highway speeds. 40mph MAX.

unplug the maf, disconnect intake side and you have yourself a NA engine, plug up your oil and coolant lines. It's fun it sounds like a leaf blower. Throw a penny at the compressor fins for fun. Spray brake cleaner into it and hold a lighter on the outlet of the compressor side it's also fun. I'll get a video next time. Broken turbo's are so much fun.
