long story short....
bought s13 ka few months ago, sold my clean miata and got coilovers for the s13 and pay debts
i found some godspeed rs off ebay, installed em and the car got a whole new look :rofl: awesome!
here is my question when i go over bumps or little holes i hear this noise coming from the front like something is loose, i know how coilovers feel but this is different. i was thinking "old bushings" or "old control arms" but i just heard about this other guy with the same problem....
anyone heard bout this???????
thanks for reading, sorry im new to this....

megans are shit too.

as for your little noise problem, be a little more descriptive. is it a clunk? rattle? thud? creak?

Just because they were brand new doesn't mean that the quality was good. They were bound to break, it was just a question of when.

So now look at it this way. You went with the cheaper brand knowing they were cheap, and now you're having problems.

Is it worth the hassle? You could've spent a few hundred dollars more, dealt with your 4x4 status for an extra month or two, and now you'd have coilovers that function and are not broken.

My friend's Godspeed coilovers broke the first day we installed them. Surprise? No. He made the smart choice of selling those and buying DG-5s.

^^^the truth is said over here. even buy a used set of coilovers is a better choice.

plus you cant just slam a stock 240 gotta have adjustable arms to fix camber issues and then you have sunken wheels which look like ass.

might as well be stock since the car is stock. getting made fun of with a stock car is better than being made fun of with a badly built car.

as for your issue you need to explain what the noise is.

Stance is good.

Do yourself a favor and buy quality parts the first time. It will save you time and money in the end.

check the top 17mm nut ( the big one ) that holds the camber plate to the actual coilover... i thought my pillowball mount on my megan went bad..just the bolt go loose..i tightened it down and BAM noise went away.

Get that looked into ASAP. Don't blame the Godspeeds:duh:

It could be a Nissan lower ball joint that is worn out... which may snap while you're on the interstate & kill you :spank:

yea, worn out ball joints and bushings dont make much noise til you put stiff coils on, then the noises come and ppl blame the coils

Ya. I've had my godspeeds for a year and a half now and no problems. These coilovers are made in the same factory as alot of the big name brands. Cheap way is the only way for some of us. HAHA! I hope to get K sports soon though. Lol.

God I really need to make a how to with pics or a video of how to shake down and inspect your front end.

Go to some one with a good impact gun and gun down the giant top nut on all 4 coils. They may/will be loose, that will cause a lot of bad noises and obviously wear that is avoidable.

Also take it to a shop that does free inspections, there should be a reputable place around.

But its an s13, its probably due for at least one or two tie rods, or if its a really high mileage chassy it might need a ball joint or control arm bushing.

Also the other most common thing is not tightening the coilover collars all the way. Tighten them as much as you can, other wise they can loosen up over time and drop your car while you are driving.

PS I have god speeds on my s13. I had cuscos I picked up super cheap and they are nice, but they wore out. When my friend was about to sell his car we traded for his 400mile old godspeeds and I've put about 10K miles on them so far. They are great budget coils, as mine are super comfy for the daily drivers and are very adjustable.

But my next set of coils will be stance GR+'s, Buddy club racing specs or maybe DG-5s or ideally Racing Gears....

Yes please don't blame the coils instantly, you have a car that is more than 10 years old and you put a stiff coilover on it. It is bound to happen sooner or later, even if you put godspeed, silkroads or motons on it, a car's suspension consist more than the coilover. Please check everything from top to bottom, tighten everything and come back here and report the outcome.

if you would have researched your coilovers when you bought them you would have noticed that everyone says to go over your godspeeds and tighten them up before you drive with them... there are alot of loose bolts/nuts

but, if you take care of your car and dont go plowing through every pothole you shouldnt have blow-out problems, i personally have godspeeds, but i have been to busy to install yet

I guess you see leaking oil by now? Were they blown? How long have you had them?

im looking into getting coilovers. Ive had ksports on my previous car, and they were fine as far as lifespan. The dampers when clunk once their blown. i have a blown ksport rihgt now myself, but i am third owner and it was past due. I Actually know exactly when i blew it, and I dont blame it for letting go on that hit. Ive had my ksports for about 3 years.

So, TODAY are these any better? My next step up would be ksport, and I'M confident in them.
