When using front EVO brembos and rear STI calipers on an S14, what brake lines are used? I have heard you can use Z32 conversion lines, although I would prefer to use the banjo style fitting they are supposed to have. I would just use EVO lines and STI lines, but I am unsure if the lengths will work. Any information would be helpful.....Thank you

"Supposed to have"?

An IF fitting doesn't work for you? Either style is fine as long as you install them properly, the only advantage a banjo gives is if the caliper has a pair of nubs on it to hold the line in place. Otherwise an IF is the better choice.

Why are you so worried about what its supposed to have?

If it works, it works. I have been running 300zx splparts conversion line with the sti brembo for 2 years now with no problems.

The calipers are meant to be used with banjo fittings, as they are on my stock EVO 8. I know the inverted flare CAN be used (as stated in post), however I want to know which lines to use to utilize the banjo fitting, as they designed to be used with. My biggest concern is the lengths? The obvious choices would be EVO or STI lines, although the length is in question. The other option could be S14 lines, although the size of the banjo fitting is in question. If anyone has any useful comments, I would appreciate it.......

If I am going to need to buy them anyway, why not purchase the right ones? "If it works, it works" would only apply if I already had lines, and wanted to make them work.

Thank you Ichibans13.5, I was hoping they would work, I was just unsure of the fitting compatibility. The length will be correct, and will mount in the factory location.

Can anyone second that?

DANG, I guess we all need to throw away all our stainless turbo lines (USES THE SAME STYLE NPT AND AN FITTINGS AS 300ZX CONVERSION BRAKE LINES) and go back to factory banjo lines.

Again, I know that inverted flares work. This is not a secret and I there function is not in question. We know you are awesome and have a turbo and brembos.....

Is there anyone else that can confirm the use of factory S14 lines? I know Z32 work........

So in your first post, you are asking....what brake lines are used. But then you say you know z32 work.....what's up with that? I'm just anwsering your question buddy.

And obviously I don't know the situation you are in but since you are asking about whether the stock s14 banjo fits on an sti or evo brembo, shouldn't you already have both? Or have you not bought the brembos yet? Just take the stock banjo and see if it threads in there.

Or better yet, do some looking online and find out the thread pitch of both the sti and s14. And lets use our brain a little. Through some quick searching online I found out that Z32 and s14 both use a 10 x 1.00 thread pitch on their brake fitting going into the calipers. The difference between the two is z32 uses a flare fitting and s14 uses a banjo. Now we all know that z32 brake lines work on sti, so if s14 shares the same thread pitch as z32, they will work on the sti.

you can just go here http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/ (http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/) and buy everything u need to make ur own brake lines. They have the banjo’s and the correct bolts that u need. They also have the IF fitting if u want to go that route…as for the length of the line why don’t u just mock everything up and measure, its not that difficult to do.

There is a thread for this already. Learn to use the search option instead on being spoonfed. Lock this shit.

I would like to thank you for that information. I would say your awesome, but I am sure you already know :madfawk:
