dear mr. driftpolice

i dont know anything about how clarion headunits work... but im sure that the only way for this to work is with some sort of pressure switch set up to catch when the handbrake is up... if thats how it works (who knows) then it wouldnt be hard to have that switch always tripped so the headunit thinks its parked.

if thats not how these things work.. then well, wait for the correct answer

if there is a wire that goes to the switch the ebrake pushes when u pull it then u can probably just bend the switch so its always making contact. or you could tape it/solder it in place or something. i know the switch on the s13 is just a little plate with a pin in it and when u pull the ebrake it pushes the pin and that makes contact. you adjust that pin by bending the plate lol if u tape it id suggest taking the spring out so it stay taped down though

Most units aren't really looking at the e-brake but rather the positive or negative feed on the circuit which causes the light to come on in your guage cluster. Check the manual and see what end it's supposed to connect to on the brake light switch. If it's a positive just connect it to any constant +12v source like your cigarette lighter switch and if it's a ground well, just ground it. An example would be my Kenwood, it needed a positive so I used the source mentioned above. 2+ years and still working w/o issues. Hope this info helps.

Usually you just ground the ebrake wire. The headunit will think that the handbrake is on.

you could also look up the "cheat" codes online so this way you dont even have to fool around with the wires and just press a series of button combinations when you want to do it

that is how it works in my car
