just wondering what you guys sell.
Also, when do you usually end your auctions? I personally found that ending them at 7-9pm (Eastern time) tuesday to friday nights are the best. Anyone has stats of traffic on Ebay on different nights of the week?
I sell some car alarms as a side job on Ebay, nothing too nice, just $60-$70 ones.
I find it hard to make money on there, too much competition that sells stuff for dirt cheap, fees are too expensive, and Paypal fees aren't cheap at all. And non paying bidders are the worse.

i sell all my old used ps2 games and stuff like that.
For a while i knew of a web site that sold really cheap rims/tires and i was buying sets of them and then selling them on ebay and making 100-200 profit for each set. Just sux when you have to put down all your own money and wait to get it back. plus a little extra.

My dad used too. I stopped b/c of the same reason you are having trouble.. he couldn't make any money to make it worth the hassle.

ebay sucks
too much hassle
fees from ebay, flakey buyers, paypal blows, and too much crap to sort thru for someone to find your stuff.

amen to that. I hate ebay, but for some reason I still have to use it...Although I hate it, although i've still saved money (over retail) in the long run...

I don't sell stuff on Ebay as a side job, but I've found it's an incredibly useful place to get rid of stuff that I know has some sort of value, but don't know what to do with.
For example, I'm big into movies and anime, but I don't want any VHS in my house anymore, I want everything DVD. I had tons of anime VHS tapes that I didn't want anymore. None of my friends are into anime, and I didn't want to just throw the tapes in the trash, so I put them up for sale on Ebay. I ended up getting about $30 for about 20 tapes, which isn't much, but it's more than I would've gotten if I had just chucked the tapes into the trash. I tend to treat Ebay as my online garage sale. Very useful for that. I think it would be hard to make a living off of it.

Doh... ebay ownz.
Don't sell stuff as a job, but do sell stuff that all of u guys are too cheap to buy :o
i sold about like 15-20 items so far and never had trouble with anything and was always satisfied with the price.... The way i go around the fees, i try to include it in the shipping... like if im selling some small stuff, i charge $5 for shipping even though it costs $1-2 so the other $3-4 go towards the fees.
Also buy stuff, never got ripped off, but then i don't buy expencive stuff either :)

i buy a lot of little crap off ebay, but once i bought my motherboard off there and got a little scared...i sent like 3 emails to the seller after i paid him, and i never got one back, and they were all returned b/c his mailbox was full...
so i decided to call him and see what was going on b/c it was a week and a half later...odd thing happened, right as i picked up the phone to call him, the ups guy knocked on my door, and i hung up on the guy lol
Talking about ebay, I just sold a cat-back of JIC for 4 bills and I kept forgetting to ship it out. The guy who bought it from me didn't even bother to ask where his exhaust is. Right now, I'm still trying to find a box to fit it in...sign. I hope I dont get a negative feedback from this guy, which will be my first. Doh
