I just picked up a 97 240SX SE (auto :() for pretty cheap. I owned a 98 5 spd maxima, and now I drive a 96 I30, so I am a big nissan fan, even though this is my first RWD car. However, it does need a couple things, and I think that i'll probably make a few trips to a couple bone yards to find what I need, but I wanted to see if maybe one of you guys on here had the stuff that I need. Basically there is nose damage to the driver's side of the car. I was hoping maybe someone did an S15 conversion and has a 97-98 front end sitting around :D Well, the car needs a new fan shroud, radiator, radiator support, front bumper support/bumper cover, hood, grille and driver's side front headlight assembly, etc. I also need the plastic piece trim piece that the radio goes into. Shipping would be a pain, so I would prefer to pick up. I'm near Washington DC, but could travel as far as Philly or Richmond if anyone has the parts. Thanks a lot to anyone that can help.

After I get the car all put together and get some rims I am hoping to have a few grand to play around with. Just wondering what some of the popular mods are for the 240? Some of the body kits that I have seen look real nice and I suppose thats an option, but I have always thought the 240 was a great lookin car stock, so I might just keep it that way. Doing an SR20DET swap seems appealing, but I think maybe thats a little much for me. I was thinking of doing a 5 spd swap with a simple nitrous set up. But dont really know whats involved with the 5 speed swap, is it pretty straight forward? Any other ideas? I'm open for suggestions. Well guys, sorry for the long post, I guess I am just a little excited and can't wait to have some fun with this car! :D:D:D:D:D:D

Regards,
Drew

Congrats on the new ride!

You should look at the for sale section on here freqently, and you should find those parts eventually. Only thing I have is the grill, it's the Autech style one, check my site.

thanks,
Drew

if i were you, id worry about getting the front end fixed first. and then the 5spd conversion.

the front end is pretty hard to find used. you have to either be really patient and get parts piece by piece for cheap, pay a ridiculous amount of money for a used front end off of some dude, or pay an even greater amount of money from parts.com or something. but maybe you'll get lucky and find someone who will sell it to you for cheap. i paid around 1500.

mods you could do are endless. its all about what you want and your preferences.

I suppose if the parts that I need prove to be very difficult to find, I could so an S15 conversion, right?

yea, but the price you pay for an s15 conversion is probably the same as sourcing parts for your front end from parts.com. that depends on the quality of the parts for the s15 conversion also.

i think you should have an idea what you want first. decide whether you want to fix your front end, or go with the s15 conversion. know if you want ot do the 5spd conversion and decide what you want out of the car. then post questions about what mods you could do.

i mean, i could tell you to get an exhaust and intake if you're looking for performance or i could tell you to cut your springs and get those washer nozzle things if you want to be a ricer. it all just .... depends.
