So not too long ago , i bought an s13 with silvia front end , with black top SR20DET

I dont want to say any names , but according to the last owner , the motor was in tip top shape .......

WRONG , first thing i had noticed was that one of the power steering bolts was backed out , and that the owner hadn't even noticed it .

that was a definate sign that the driver didnt really take care of this motor , and just daily drove it for the fun of it ....

I soon did a total tear down of the car , from the bottom up

this was my first look under the car , and i had found this in the strait pipe

after that a friend of mine had noticed that the intercooler piping to the turbo was loose... not only was it loose , it was able to make the compressor side of the turbo .... TURN

( when i bought the car , the previous owner had said that the car would idle funny , feeling like it would die ... obviously some type of vaccuum or boost leak )

the bracket on the compressor inlet side of the turbo had gone missing , thus not centering the turbo.... Fail again...

SOOOO since i had a fxcked up turbo , i decided ; " eh , why not go bigger turbo yeah ? "

upgraded from stock Garret T25 turbo to a T28 ball bearing turbo , heres the difference in size .

since the turbo was already out , decided to replace some of the old hardware from the old turbo ( locking plates , manifold to turbo studs and nuts )

this is what it looks like if you guys wanted a picture

Since there is not an actual tech-related question being asked or solution being presented, this thread is just taking up space...
So I will kill it.
