I have the VLSD in my 95 SE, it just dosnt seem to be locking as well as it used to. What options if there are any besides the stock one would be a direct bolt in, no fab needed choice, without going aftermarket?

Yeah. I was wondering if maybe the 300z's would fit under, or if there was anything other than those that would fit in. Basically i just dont want to do the VLSD from the stock 95, i wanna try something new without breaking the bank, cause i dont have a lot of horsepower, and i basically just play around in my car when it rains, and when my tires are slick

Yes it will fit, but that would be dumb. Why? It's the same thing. Unless your goal was to find one with lower mileage.

The way I see it you have two choices, you could buy another VLSD from a 300zx, j30 or from a fellow 240sx. I would not recommend that because it will just fade out like your last one. (I am probably going to get bashed for saying that by the VLSD lovers out there).
Or you could spend a little more money and gat a s15 diff which is a HLSD and will last a lot longer than the VSLD and will not fade out. The problem is that you would most likely have to install the diff yourself. But don't worry there are many how to threads on that. I would recommend looking into an s15 diff.
Hope this helps.

If you do go towards a z32 vlsd make sure its a non-turbo, as turbo ones aren't direct bolt on. when dealing with vlsd, flushing and re-lubing it all it needs to last forever. You can have your picks of gearing from 4.08, 4.11, 4.36 and 4.6? Only thing I can think of your vlsd not locking right is mayb the main cap is wearing out or you just need to flush the old oil out and put in some new oil. If you need help finding the correct oil, just use the search button.

^^yes but its a different r200. ive been told that the nose of the diff is too long and wont bolt up. i believe you can swap the insides tho but need special output shafts from the same car. not %100 sure tho.
