There are two different harnesses on an S13.
The engine room harness contains all the wiring from the fuseboxes to the SMJ, the headlights, ignition switch, radiator fan, etc.
The chassis harness is everything else, from the SMJ through the dash and all the way back to the tail.
Auto and manual harnesses are different, SOHC and DOHC are different, and ABS/HICAS are different from non ABS. Also, coupe and hatch chassis harnesses are different.
You can use an auto engine room harness on a manual car but you won't have the wiring needed for the neutral, 4th gear, and 5th gear switches. You will also have to hardwire the reverse switch and jump the starter inhibit just like you would do when swapping an auto to a manual.

doubt that ill have a problem as i have abs and hicas, which is currently being removed right now, but as for the auto/manual harness stuff is it that hard to hook up?

bumpin this i need help gettin a auto body room harness to work with a manual car as well. everything plugs up but the tranny sensor as the manual tranny plug is a 3prong and the auto is a 2prong. also the fact that i dont have any of the top four plugs for the auto crapped plugged into anything will that cause a problem.

Ive been working on my harnesses for a while now and have 5spd with auto wiring harness. Have been stripping all the auto related wiring and relocation fuse boxes.
Hmm i cant think of what plug you are talking of, have any pictures? I know you only need like 3 plugs from the engine harness plugged into the room harness to start.
Thinking of it your reverse switch, 4th/5th gear switches from the tranny are just gonna be hangin there.
If you have any other question pm me, ive been knee deep in mine for 2 weeks. And printed out all the wiring schematics.

well that right there fucks me up pretty good...i guess i need a specific sohc manual chassis harness...(mine also got eaten away by the tire even though i did a tuck, it came loose)...im gonna run it thru the frame this time, get a foot of spare harness and re solder everything...wish me luck...
