LMAO!!!
Once you get an SR, you CANNOT pass emissions legally.

he's in PA not CA, ... you guys are grilling the kid without knowing what emissions is like in that state, yes we all know its not a federally legal engine... maybe for whatever reason an OBD1 conversion could get the emissions done. im not from PA either, i dont know. you guys are treating the kid as some drift-o noob without knowing everything about the situation yourselves...

doesnt matter what you do to the motor... since your car is OBD2 (based on the year of the CAR not the motor) it will need plugged in to the machine. Your car will not pass. Only way to get around it is to register it in a different county that doesnt require emissions testing... good luck, hope you know a mechanic that does testing and likes you...

let me clairify in pa cars 1997 (last year was 96) and older dont need emissions but since my car had an obd2 plug instead of obd1 its considered newer than 1997 even though it is not. but if i had an obd1 harness instead of obd2 they would not need to check.

won't they go of the VIN and say this is OBD II. Plug or no plug anyone can change that.

OBD-II was mandated to start in 1996 on all vehicles. Cars as early as 1994/95 had them but ALL 1996 model year cars and newer have it.
To reiterate what was stated earlier. It's an OBD-II chassis. It doesn't mater what motor you put in it. It still has OBD-II.
If you bothered to look under your dash you will see you have an OBD-II and a Consult port. If your theory held any water you could hide the OBD-II port and claim the Consult port was OBD-II. But, they will just laugh at you at the inspection place.

Search, all the answers are here.
Good luck.

anything after this statement is pointless.
accept the law, or deal with the consequences.

ok i talked to my friend and he said obd1 are easier to fool in the system for emissions since they dont need drive cycles like obd2 do in order to pass inspection thats y i need to switch
really dont get it huh?
its the chassis dude, not the motor.

no my friend tried to do the inspection at the honda we work at and he cant bypass the emissions with the obd2 he can do it with the obd1 ok.... so you dont really know the situation k big guy
yeah except I graduated wyotech top of my class, and got excepted to smog but turned it down. and my best friend and business partner is a smog tech.
And basically you just said you are trying to break state law and we dont support that or the breaking of any laws (local or federal) here on Zilvia.

How about you buy my USDM S13 OBD I harness, it's complete, every wire from the car bumper to bumper. Then you buy an OBD I SR engine harness and OBD I SR ECU. That should be all that you need, you might have to change some sensors over on the engine if they don't plug in.
Hes right thats all you need.
now have him MSpaint you instructions.

Umm...Japan doesnt have OBD crap emission bullshit. So it doesnt matter what engine/ECU you put in, it wont work for shit in the states...specially not for OBD-II. Only reason you'd pass OBD-I emission is because its just a sniffer test for the most part in almost every state that does emissions.
Your car is a 97 which means its an OBD-II car and they will test it using that process, meaning they will look for the plug. If your plug isnt working (which it wont since you got an engine swap that doesnt have any OBD crap capability), it will automatically fail.

You are a stupid fucking idiot. Period. If you want to keep this up, learn how to type so people can understand you.
Moving on, your car is a 1997. Any emissions place will require it to comply for OBD-II inspection, no matter what engine you have. There is no 'conversion' back to OBD-I unless you buy a 1995 or older chassis and put your engine into it, that way the chassis complies with OBD-I certification and will not need to be scanned. There is no other way to pass an OBD-II car unless you actually use a completely different OBD-II car for the test that passes all codes, then tell the inspector to use your VIN instead, but they still have scanned and stored the VIN from the passing car so down the road if anyone checks and sees they don't match, you're fucked. You also cannot roll a OBD-II car in to a station, have them scan the VIN, and then say it's not really a 1997 model and the OE placard is wrong since they've just scanned it and have clearly read that it's OBD-II.
If your friend is trying to get it passed for you, he's a good friend. I wouldn't risk a loss of license, huge fines, and jail time for anyone. Especially a worthless piece of shit like you.

Can you verify that it's a spec R engine, I might be able to help you with the conversion if it's not an type R. Just give me the block ID.
It's not with B18 stamping on there is it, there's a special forum for the B18 engines you can google them?

It is quite obvious that it is YOU who doesn't get it...
There are a few posts in this thread that tell you that what you are asking will not provide you the results you're expecting, they are here:

Back to the OP:
What they are saying is that your CAR is OBDII, and if you go to an inspection station you will have to pass an OBDII inspection, regardless of the engine installed in your car. If they look at your 1997 car and it is OBDI equipped, then YOU WILL FAIL, simple as that.
Being that you're apparently too dense to understand that this has been told to you time and again, this thread needs not continue taking up the space it is and has taken.
