Can anybody help me out here? I'm looking for a turbo that would make boost from about 2500 rpm to like 5500 or 6000. Mind you, this is all for future reference. No cash flow right now to do anything for my car.

my t3 does that. Goes from 2200 acctually. Hit a full 5 PSI (woot) at like 3k. This is only first gear, if I stay on it theres no spool at all in the other gears. Constant boost. Or get an Apexi turbo. Much better spool and bigger.

I really want a BIGGER T3. Not a t3/t4

I like a little bit bigger turbo with lower boost = Low boost, high flow...

I run a T3/T04E - 57 trim, .63 exhaust A/R Stage III wheel.

I like the Z31 300ZX T3, but the exhaust wheel is only a stage I (1.75" IIRC, as opposed to 2.25" on the stage III - With the same A/R!!) so it chokes the top end a little I think.

And spool is not bad on mine - I make full boost (8psi) by 3000rpm in 2nd and 3rd.

I auto-x a lot, and have never wanted a faster spooling turbo, even on tight courses. And the car is not slow when it's off boost - Feels just like stock until boost starts to build around 2500, then the RWTQ jumps 100ft/lbs in the next 600rpm and it's just fast. Hit's redline before you know it, I shift, boost is at 4psi, gets back to 8 in the blink of an eye, shift again, etc...

But cheap, easy, quick spool can be found from a T3 Super 60...new for ~$650 with an internal gate.

Cool, thanks for the info guys. Anybody else have any suggestions? I can get pretty much any type of turbo, got a hook-up on tubos at dealer prices(my dad is VP of a diesel shop that does performance, so he can get me pretty much anything at his cost).

HKS turbos seem to be in high usage by a lot of  D1 drivers....
