in reverse!

When ever i go into reverse and back up sometimes the gears start to grind loudly. how do i stop this from happening?

Are you sure it's the gears? One of my rear calipers hangs and shudders in reverese, it's loud as hell.

if its coming from the rear which it probably is. Its most likely something to do with your rear brakes 240's are notorious for that noise when the brakes need work in the rear.

I have this same problem. I have z32 brakes f+r and it definitely sounds transmission or differential related. Try changing your diff and trans fluid to see if it reduces the noise.

My car used to do it I just changed my diff. fluid and it fixed the problem.

How can it be synchros? Reverse isn't even synchronized.

*EDIT* S14 transmissions may have a reverse synchronizer? S13s for sure do not.

That doesn't sound like the problem anyways.
