I got a running full blacktop (WITH REDTOP VALVE COVER) Sr20 swap for sale 2000 OBO still in car will be coming off soon everything you need I even have a Godspeed front mount if intrested I can put in for some extra cash!!!

Milage is unknown the last owner told me it had around 40k and that it was rebuilt that's all he explained I bought it in the same coupe I'm partin out and the tranny is clean and I haven't taken the clutch of to see it but it doesn't slip or anything it's good

black top type x motor is what he means, s14 motors are notch back which means they have nvtcs , read some more buddy! now if you really wanna find out if its a black top its in 1 of 2 ways , ecu pins are different than red tops, and the front of the head is different than a red top( finned ), now i think someone needs to do some research before making accusations ,

you can also list and take a pix of the ecu the pn will dictate the motor.. this is why i sold my s14 and all my sr stuff, too many uneducated ppl

The ridges were on both models redtop and blacktop. The very early redtop came with smoothed heads... either way, no real difference between the 2 except some pinouts on the ecu, so diff ecu....

Since its still in car, whats compression on the cylinders? Also how well is the turbo? much shaft play, car smoke? any flaws or needs?

No they did not. Red tops do however have ridges on the Inside of the head. Either way It doesn't matter. Same thing. Get this thing sold already!!
