How about you try it and find out, why does it matter how light someones car is, 80% of guys drift and weight isnt an issue...

Wicked BURN!!!! I understand though. Try to think about how light the S13 is already.........the understand or know that you still want a certain amount of curb weight to be able to have a balanced car... to light and you will not be able to control the car at high speeds to heavy and you will not be as nimble at lower speeds, but will have better control at higher speeds. For instance my friend just bought a track edition NISMO 350Z and hates that it is so much heavier than the S13 he previously owned but loves the solid feel of the car at high speeds .....lets says above 100mph. It is a relevant ? though. I think you need to be more specific about the ? Try
asking what the lightest most succesful S13 (drift or grip) has been. I honestly dont know but would be interested to see who it was. Good luck and hope that I didn't offend you!!:)

I'm guessing that he is looking into making a track or full race car out of a s13.
u need to go search mang! look for s13's that have been built only for race and see the discription of the car. it will tell u what the weight of the car is and how it was achieved.
I'm not looking for how to get ur car lighter, I'm basically looking to see what's the lowest weight someones achieve. That's all, prefer a coupe too

So maybe he wants to know for somthing other then drift. There is nothing wrong with this thread, ya you can google, but do you think everyones set up is on google. Im interested in hearing some examples of how low they got the weight down to, and what they did. So dont be an asshole

There have been weight threads before. This is not a new idea. I daily'd my coupe at sub-2300lbs.
Curb weight has nothing to do with stability. Do not derp the noobs.
However, my car won't pass tech for anything other than driver's ed. No cage, etc.

^^ those aren't even 240's anymore, those are full tube-chassis cars, so it kinda doesn't count.
I think he's curious about how light an S13 coupe can be while still retaining at least most of the factory unibody.

Depends what regulations you are under.
According to the 2009 SuperGT regulations, vehicles must maintain a minimum weight of no less than 1,100kg (2425lbs). SuperGT regs require the original production chassis between the wheel centers be unmodified.
If no limit, then I'd imagine you can make the chassis weight as light as.... 1400lbs? (Just a guess) But, I'm talking Ti + C everything.

89 coupe with s13 sr. Everything gutted except dash, cluster, and stock front two seats.
FMIC, all stock metal panels, no sunroof at all (open whole in the roof), no headlights, just the stock metal covers.. also note I have motorized windows and mirrors
2200lbs low on gas (seem lows to me, but I was on a certified truck scale with 20lb resolution so who knows... not an expert on the subject, just a little suprised to see that low.)
I have since added a six point cage and a little bit of carpet for creature comfort (can't stand bare metal floors) so hopefully soon I can get it back on the scale just to see what it's at now.)
Not sure about s13's but I know Kognition has one of the lightest s14 that is a race car but not as extreme as the examples above with tube frames and missing rear ends.

yeah, you really are being a tool.
Because if the dude wants to know the lightest S13 shell, we have about 1000 of those threads, going into such specifics on how to rewire your car and loose 40lbs of wire weight and anything else.
ITS ALL THERE, he does need to search.
Are you really going to try and say this is a unique question??

Shit, they run KA engines.

True but they retain most of the stock unibody, and besides he was asking about race cars, not drift cars. Those IMSA GTP cars run KA's, and look like 240's but, they utilize those pseudo fiberglass exterior panels to make em look the part.
Idk I guess it's just my opinion, I guess I'd draw the line between unibody (or at least most of it) and full tube chassis with a fiberglass look-alike body. Unless the car started life as a 240 but then that's a whole nother complication lol.

Tube chassis or not its still based around a 240's body lines, wheel base and so on. This thread is so full of mis-information it hurts my stomach to even read it, especially the comment about weight = stability...tell that to forumula 1 car designers. Your car can get as light as you can afford it too... Pretty simple....

Wrong. We just don't like people wasting bandwidth (and slowing the forum) with stupid threads where they ask questions that have been answered 1293719283719 times.
Use the search button (or even google, what a revelation!) or you will be treated like the newb you are.

because CALIFORNIA is where everything is made...you don't see more than 1 formula d track in atlanta do you?
It just so happens to be that in CALIFORNIA, if you wanted to race every weekend, with a different venue, you can.
WE CALIFORNIANS are tired of stupid people...that ask stupid questions. It's bad enough that we have to drive on the freeway in rush hour traffic with people that can't even fucking merge.
So understand, "ZILVIA" tends to have more knowledgeable 240 owners than any other forum that "I" have been on. And everything that has been discussed in the "90's" has already been talked about. So if you can, bring me something as a "build" that hasn't been done, and then you'll see non asshats.

I ask what is the lowest weight of a race car, some might believe we have a race car so post some actual weight number, I NEVER ASKED WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO LOWER MY WEIGHT, and there are a abundant amount of threads on that! and to everyone saying there are so many threADS on actual race car weights show me? prove me wrong and prove that u are not ignorant.

Ok, first off, the question is much too vague to answer. You could probably make the car weigh 1500lbs wet with enough cubic dollars. As a general rule anything under 2500lbs (wet) is "good". The lowest that I have heard of is the DSG car, but I am certain that you can get lighter with millions of dollars to spend.
Second, if you (not necessarily the OP) don't like zilvia then don't let the door hit you on your ass on the way out. This is a longstanding community of 240sx enthusiasts and we do not take kindly to holding your precious little hands. There are MULTIPLE threads out there on this EXACT same topic with this EXACT same answer. A simple search would have yeilded the same results with no drama. I have no sympathy for noob idiots that cannot use the search function.
EDIT: If you actually take the time to read those threads that supposedly don't tell you what you want to know then you would find your answer...

There is a whole page dedicated to your ignorance in searching.
weight could be fat people, fat cars, rims, how much something weighs...etc. Use your brain.
you won't find specific numbers in a "build" thread. You might find those numbers in a GT class, or maybe a SCCA class.
cmon man...you asked what is the lowest weight in a race car. Be more specific, what to you is a race car, and why do you need that info? Cause you just want to know what is possible? What is a race car? What kind of reduction are you looking for? BE MORE SPECIFIC!!!! You can't be spoon fed if we don't know what you want!

because CALIFORNIA is where everything is made...you don't see more than 1 formula d track in atlanta do you?
Untill then, stop wasting our time bitching about how we are assholes...
...only mommy cares when you cry. This Forum is for grown ups.
Atlanta is the home of formula D dumbass. we can still daily drive our rb's and sr's here so suck on that. and as for FD tracks, actually there are potentially 2 more that could be added to the circuit. Gresham Motorsports park, and Atlanta motorsports park, when its completed in a few years. you CALIFORNIANS need to get the dick out of your ass. BRAH. HELLAFLUSH/SILLIEST y0!

BRO...learn how to read. I said there "aren't more than 1"...and we potentially have exponential number of tracks...whats your point?
good way to 1 up california by making yourself look dumb.
And formula D might have started in Atlanta, but California seems to have all the drivers, sponsors, etc.....
stop getting so butt hurt, you can keep the dick.

Just thought that needed to be here twice. But I guess a rust bucket out of state car would help with his weight problems? Less metal less weight.
Formula D suck a dick.
