ok i got my fsm in the other day and im trying to find the problem and i can't understand the fsm can anyone help??

i get the 32,34 for the code knock sensor and exaust thing i have replaced the rotor, cap, spark plugs, and wires and i have put about 3 tanks of the expensive gas through it. What should be my next step??

Also my cruise control doesn't work i have tracked all the lines and i think its the acuator? Does anyone know where i can buy this?? or if there are any junk yards in CO that might have a 95-98 240?? and lastly does anyone know how to make your crusie control come on with out the car moving so i can test to see if the acuator is geting power? Thanks o and if anyone needs copies of stuff from the FSM Email me a [email protected] and i will try to hook you up so you don't have to shell out the 100 bucks for some little problem

If 32 is for Knock Sensor, I'm not too sure what you mean by 34 for the Exhaust thing. What's the exhaust thing. If the ECU throws 32, shouldn't you follow the steps for checking the knock sensor? It'll have step by step instructions that probably begin with continuity and voltage tests.

Cruise control is a good question...if I remember correctly from my FSM, it's got some sort of link to the VSS and TPS. If it's getting a voltage based signal, you can try disconnecting the cruise control cable (leave attached to bracket), tapping the TPS signal to use as the voltage differential, starting the car and connecting the vaccum line, then manually adjust the throttle (changing the voltage). If the cruise control cable moves..then it works? This is some completely harebrained idea I just thought up based on my understanding of car electronics, so no flaming please :)

I had the knock sensor code in my s13. I checked the timing and found it was waay too advanced. Retarded it back to stock, reset ECu and it was fine.

SoCal 240sx Timing guide (http://www.240sx.org/faq/articles/timing.htm)

Its also spelled out in your FSM.
