So recently i picked up a s15 motorset with a bunch of mods etc. well the swap is tuned with a Haltech e8 EMS. im used to rom tuned ecu's and what not that still retain factory wiring etc. The e8 uses a patch cable sorta jumper harness and connects to the s15 engine harness.

with that said i have a few questions i havent been able to figure out as of yet. this setup came out of a 95 s14 and has been wired to operate in said chassis. im now installing this setup into an s13.

1.) Does Haltech offer a universal wiring harness for Nissan so can rewire this motor?

2.) Does the Haltech wiring require the shielded grounds used in the factory harness?

3.) Haltech allows for map sensor conversion which this setup is using. In part of using map sensor, an IAT sensor is added. The previous owner had it tapped into the IC piping pre throttle body. Wouldn't this normally go after the TB mounted on the intake manifold or does it really matter?

Sup Brad,

1)Haltech makes wiring adapters that will be able to setup the s15 into an s13 for around $120 if I remember correctly, you should contact johngriff, he is who I got the Haltech from and has helped me tremendously numerous times. He is on here under that S/N and also rpsport.net

2) Not sure, something John could answer, but I had all the grounds connect and never had a problem.

3)John told me where the optimal spot to put the IAT sensor, and that is where it was. Although you might want to get it fixed in there a little more solid, but that JB weld held on strong for a long time lol.

3) Mounted in the IC piping is prefered, but mounted in the intake manifold is an ok place to mount it. I have mine in the IM and it's fine. It is recommended to mount it into the IC pipe because of heat soak, the IC pipe tends to stay cooler than the intake manifold.

2) Everything that is needed is included in the Haltech patch loom. Just plug into the existing wiring harness and go.

1) I believe Haltech sells chassis specific patch looms. I've not heard of them selling platform swap patch looms, but I could be wrong. FYI, patch looms are around $300, not the $120 the user posted above.

The Haltech is a great EMS, I just had my car tuned to 360rwhp at 13psi with an E8.
