I am looking to see how much a roll cage will cost me for my convertible. Its basically just for looks and just to tie the body together a bit. I just want it for the rear, behind the front seats and preferably retain all the interior pieces such as panels and back seats. Also the roof has to retract freely. Example of what I am looking for is a picture below but a different car. but same Idea. I searched and asked for picture requests so if anyone has any experience with building cages or knows prices please chime in!

thank you

um it would help tremendously if you told us what kind of car you're looking to put this in.

Ask a shop, not zilvia.

Each welder will charge different prices. I'd say somewhere in the few hundred range.

A rollbar just for looks is stupid though.

Go buy some PVC and continue faking the funk.

if its a 240 vert i would charge 500-1200 depending on what you want. if you want SCCA legal cage then 1200-1800. remember DOM - Cromemolly are the 2 types of tubing you want to use. if you go with cromemolly expect to pay over 2000. if its a 4 point roll bar 300-500.

By the way im 65 a hour. when im welding

Yeah I'm looking for no more than a four point for my 240 convertible. I'm doing it for looks as well as some minimal structural rigidity but don't want to go crazy with steel tubing. It doesnt have to be race approved or anything, I didnt buy a vert to race it. I was worried people will freak out when I said "for looks" but you have to admit, there is a real benefit of having any cage in a vert unlike a body kit or stretched tires.

And if you think that a cage in a vert for looks is stupid, start posting in people threads about their JDM stuff they put on their cars, because obviously there is no benefit in having a JDM shift knob, lugnuts or other stuff that is "JDM" . Plus you never know, maybe that small cage might save my life, unlike a JDM shift knob or pedals.

However thank you for your input.

its your car do as you want with it. i for one think 4 point roll bar would look sick in a vert. plus my frind rolled his mustang vert and only thing that saved him was his 4point. anyone with a vert should have a 4point or more with cross bar.
