just wanting to get an idea from you fellow zilvias to make sure i am not getting screwed. The reason i am considering this is because i would like to start a turbo 350z, or turbo s2000 project and figured a bone stock rx8 may be a little easier to sell then my s13. all opinions will be accepted.

i dunno rx8's arent really that popular around my area dunno bout urs...my thoughts would be to part out your car and keep parts u can swap into your new project.

I don't know RX8's are odd cars. They are not overly popular. I personally do not like them. I think they are ugly. LOL I would not trade for one. I do not consider them A movers or even B movers in the sales department.

what the OP is thinking, is that he could trade his S13 for a rx8 that is worth more, than turn around and sell the RX8 for a 350z.

Do it.. typical built S13s seem to have dropped in value to like $4-7k at the most.. No one wants to pay for legit built S13s with real parts, esp if they aint popular in your local area.

Ive worked the trade game b4, just never downgrade to a lower car, i.e. to something of lesser value etc.

I personally wouldn't touch an rx8. My buddy is a rotary specialist and sees rx8's coming in all the time that need motor rebuilds. He's also told me that 04's seem to have electrical problems. I do know they are high maintence cars and require more attention than most other cars. Changing plugs more often and stuff like that. (typically over a $100 for the 4 plugs.) Many of them come in with about 50K and need a rebuild. If i were you i'd try selling the 240 rather than making the trade. Like mentioned above....they aren't crazy popular.

id like to back up the rotary thing by saying alot of people abuse them, they are great motors and can last a long time, its the shithead owners who dont do maintenance and fuck em up that give em a bad rep. People who never experienced a rotary will always talk from what they heard about them.

I don't know how much I would trust an engine that has been known to go after 13,000 miles and was recalled in potentially every RX8 ever made from 2004 to 2006.

Not enought to open a thread... lol jp

they are pretty sick if you tune them and get good suspension.

just not very common.
