I wouldn't mind looking into it, if it were in my area.
Not worth to taking some 5 hr flight just for it imo.

yeah, seriously. Part of downtown is closed off to cars and you have to pay 20 dollars to walk around in there. There's nothing cool about it. Its same ol downtown SD except certain streets have no cars and there's people and beads everywhere. Whats worse is that you still have to pay for whatever food/drinks you buy at the places that are on these streets. WTF am i paying 20 bucks for? To walk in the street? F that.

Oh and if you drive down there and park in a surrounding area, you have to pay anywhere from $8 - $15 in places where its normally free.

In other words, you spend $35 BEFORE you've had a beer, eaten some food, or possibly seen a nice rack. Umm no thanks.

Total scam.

What's this whole San Diego Mardi Gras thing?
Is it in the Gaslamp?
Never heard of it despite living in SD (downtown no less) for a couple of years.

Events in SD are okay.
I recall Superbowl a few years ago wasn't so bad.
Parking's horrid, but it's not bad otherwise.
I wouldn't mind spending $50-$100 for a day out.

For $20 you should get a personal beer and boob maid.

Its weak dude. Its regular downtown SD with free beads and closed off streets. Its where are the clubs and stuff are. Save your money.

And yeah SD is cool. I totally love it here. But this "event" is stupid and a huge rip off for anyone that lives here. We all know how much stuff normally costs, PLUS St. Patricks day is coming up in a few weeks and the exact same stuff will be going on except beads will be green, nothing will be closed off, drinks will be cheap, and free parking areas will still be free.

I'm sooooooo showing some cute boys my boobies, but only if they give me beads, otherwise I'd just be a whore.

Haven't been to Mardi Gras since I was a kid. Used to love bouncing around town to catch all the parades. My favorite krewes were Endymion, Bacchus and of course, Rex.

Oh I agree about San Deigo being a nice city.
Lived there when I went to school there years ago.
If I could find I job there, I would leave Los Angeles.
I still visit often as the lady friend works in La Jolla.

Good tip on St. Patricks, thanks!
Will try to check it out.

im from OC and never went. lol

Think LA meant the state of Lousiana here.
There's a big Mardi Gras in New Orleans every year.
