??? it's a valid question. no need to flame
tekon: you could have searched a bit to find your answer, but in order to go past 115 you need to disconnect the 5th gear sensor or something like that. i'm not sure... i'm a KA guy.

well the never notified part was pretty damn funny...but its called a speed limiter cut off. i think u have to get ur ecu chipped or something to get rid of it. i dunno im not worry about it since there really isnt no need to go 115mph on the street OR highway

Isn't the limiter on the SR higher than that on the KA?

The greddy or HKS speed cut defenser will get rid of it. Cutting your 5th get sensor or getting your ecu chipped.
The SR speed cut is at 118mph

I drive a KA. How much would getting the defenser or getting my ecu chipped cost? How can I cut the 5th gear sensor?

isnt the speed limiter on the KA the same at 115?

Does the apexi speed/rev meter remove the speed limiter? Just a question. Thanks-

why would u need to go past 115? oh wait nvm...not everyone drifts here....some people like to go kicky fast. gooooooooo kicky fasty!:bash:

dont trust your stock speedo. it is not taht accurate at higher speeds.
get it recalibrated and then come back making claims
also are you using the stock sized tires? if you changed sizes, that will affect the speedo readout as well

I am not as stupid as I used to be, so I don't plan on trying it again..It went past the 120 mark, and then WHHOOOOM...it kicked in..
So your stock speedo isnt accurate?...thats pretty gay....
These were on stock tires...
115, 118...122.....154, these are all WAY too fast anyways...stupidity...

seriously whats the point of going faster than 115 on the freeway? I mean i drive fast, maybe 80-90mph, so whats the point of going 115. about all it does is reduce your time to react if something happens...
Unless you have super fast ninja reflexes, which as we all know most of us 240 drivers do.
but seriously unless your a oval track racer why would you need to go that fast.

no stock speedos are notorious for not being 100% accurate
do it mathematically for accuracy
RPM, tire size and gearing. that's far more precise.

I'm sure I'm bringing this back but I'm trying to get rid of mine. Someone mentioned the APEXi rev/speed computer thing... does that work? And I need to get rid of it for the 1/4 mile...

automatic ECU.

That costs just as much... without the other features.

Does the KA have enough ASS to even get there? .....j/k lol

just get an auto ecu, and rip the 5th gear sensor out when putting your new motor in (oops...) i dont have one anymore.
California is a big state guys...

Fastest I ever went was 117mph on I-5 with my SR20DET. AT 117mph I hit the fuel cut. Tried to get past it for like 25 miles and no dice.
I hit 125mph in my KA24E... It was a 5-speed swapped car so I'm guessing I was able to do it cus the 5th gear sensor wasnt hooked up.. the fuel didnt cut but the car wouldnt go any faster. :)

so automatic tranny 240's have no fuel cut off?

correct.. I've been at least 125 in my old Auto KAE
You have to do two things to get rid of the speed cut on KA..
Cut the Green and yellow wire with silver dots, and remove the 5th gear sensor.
The green and yellow wire is the speed sensor into the ECU. It tells the ecu when to hit the fuel cut. The 5th gear sensor tells the ecu when to kick on the Rev-limiter.

Ouch man. . . Very ouch :-( I've plinked the limiter in my DOHC 5spd at 114, and ran my SOHC auto out of legs at ~130 (these are both speedo speeds, so take it as you will- I do run slightly larger tires than stock). . .
I suck at math and all that science shit to figure all that RPM Tire shit.....

wow
i went that fast once or twice.....car was stable feeling and noisy as hell.
Ill just stick to the speed limit..seems I could almost bury the needle in 3rd gear

115 cut off could also hold you back on a 1/4 mile run, assuming his car ever gets enough power to get to those trap speeds.

I would probably disable the speed cut purely so that I don't have a off if it kicked on at a bad time (Turn 1 thunderhill for example...)
