So I got bored and wanted to polish and shave my compressor housing on my turbo. Its not finished so yea...
I have to go over it with maybe 750, 1000, 2000 grit and then some polishing compound but here it is. I also shaved off the "Airesearch" logo

Good start. WIth aluminum I like to start with 3m scotch brite pads, as they will get into the areas that paper really can't. Another tip is to use the finer (1000+) with water, to help with the process.

Never though of using Scoth Brite pads but thanks for the tip and I also was planning on wet sandinf with 1000 and 2000 grit, then finishing it off with polishing compound

Looks like your off to a good start, but you still have a loooong way to go. This is why I hate polishing stuff, takes forever. I'd recommend using polishing compound to "wet" sand with 1000 to 2000 grit. I always thought it worked better. Make sure to use a clean polishing wheel as well.
