you all know i LOVE doing reviews (especially when i get free stuff, stuff in the USA no one has, or cheap stuff), so...
yep. Bride Brix baby!
dorifto180sx picked it up last night. cost? no, cant say..actually i cant post costs or where i/him got this stuff for ANY of this. this is more of an informational thread for all ya'll. the seat will be in my car for a while until my Bride gets picked up. (Shortly).
pics of testing will be posted tonight and fitment into car.
first things first. the seat rails
ive had a few different types over the past year. ive owned a sparco sprint and hated it. ive sat in all the bride model seats that i can (brix, rev, ergo, zetaII, III, Navis, Pro, etc etc etc). Same goes for Sparco, tried all their seats. So i dont and am not, talking out of my a$$
first up is the mystery brand
company its for? unknown.
rail position: SUPER LOW (more pics tonight)
fits? no clue (find out tonight)
have BOTH passenger and driver.
modification MIGHT be necessary for the bride brix fitment.
second up real bride rail
for bottom mount? yes, but not sure if works with brix, why? removed off OLD model of bride (old school)
this is passenger side rail
rail position: should be LOW
third real bride brix seat rail
new version
seat position: LOOOOW probably near stock
more pics of s14/s15/Brix seats in car. should be busy night. pics of all and how a 5'11 or so fella fits and shorter and taller guys in the brix. any qs or requests? (dont ask a stupid q like can you have it or something like that)
dont ask about cost, where to get it or how much we got it for, please!
Grant: the seats will be for sale soon (s14) but no passenger head rest as i told you in AIM. email me or hit me up on AIM if you are still interested! $180 for the seat. if you find s13 headrest fits s15 seat, grab that and take the s14s w/ a headrest (both sides)

very nice. you always seem to be loading up on goodies. i was actually looking at the Bride Zeta II's (not for anytime soon, probably about 400 years later when i have money).. what do you think of them? reclinable seats are very nice, but i would rather have a bucket that cups me completely. unfortunately, my legs are too short for most bucket seats.. i don't seem to be able to depress the clutch pedal completely in the past couple ones i've sat in. ): ah well, nothing to worry about for the present, i guess.

ive heard that bride seats arent very nice to big people.. is it width or height? because im skinny as hell but going on 6'4-5, do you think ill fit? i dont know if fitment probelms are the same between reclinable or the bucket, im really considering a bucket seat but id be willing to compromise. and didnt you just get a nismo sss lsd? your cars just getting sweeter and sweeter. thanks for ur help

Hey, so where did you get all this stuff?! What about cost?? Is there any chance you could source me a cheap Bride?! Who made the first rail that you listed?

my review of Bride Brix:

da red is da bling

Im 6´1, or 2 and about 160 and I love my seat. Aaron let me drive his car friday night after we installed the seat. I fit so nicely in it and it feels so comfortable. And the red is soooooo bling. I like the black/grey oldschool ones the best, but I am very partial to red right now because of how piiiiiiiimp it is. Only reason i would cosider black and grey is cause that matches my S15 passenger seat. the Brix holds like none other! The S14 seat feels like sh!t, the S15 seat too. Sparco and Momo buckets... SH!T. Ergo... not enough bolster. All other reclinables.... WEAK. SRDs dont compare. Sorry. I love it. Lucky Aaron has 2 dope seats in his car for about 2 months and then he is going to be stuck. SUCKA. Get some Brix soon fool. Oh yeah... with the Brix, I feel liek the seat sits lower than stock S14 seat. I fit fine with a Helmet on, and obviously without one... dope dope dope dope dope....

HOLY CRAP!
Those thigh bolsters are HUUUUUGE for a reclineable seat! Others pictures I've seen don't do that thing justice... seeing it up next to the S15 seat... wow!
If there's one thing I always liked about your car, it's the cockpit... nardi classic + nismo knob + HUD cluster... and now those sweet seats... good job!
Dousan_PG
06-26-2003, 09:02 AM
:)THANKS
but im still torn...red brix or black and grey..oh the decisions!
ilove the HUD cluster. its so great. too bad the speedo on it doesnt work. oh well! the horn button is out because i was goofing around and such..getting alignment this week so fix all that and it goes back. the only thing i feel im missing is some gauges! haha..oil temp and pressure i hope to get soon..still deciding what brand and size :( (and where to put them)
all front interior carpet will be removed this year and just get some floor mats n there (i want those checkered ones) when car is repainted...hmm
the exterior will just as bling as the interior VERY SOON :)

if your going with the color you PMd me I'd say the black and gray Brix. but thats just me :) I want seats now.. :( I sat in some Sparco Pro2000 this weekend felt REALLY nice but Idunno if I can do without an adjustable back. Torinos felt pretty good too. arrrrgh decisions decisions

about the brix
the side bolsters are about top of my thighs iirc..(i forget off top of head haha)
so i can like basically put a tray on my lap and it willl be almost resting on the bolters.
its a amazing seat. holds almsot like a bucket but has the reclinability
also the reclining back can be fine tuned, it is not like a stock seat where the settings are kinda far from eachother. you can get the PERFECT angle on the brix.
the problem is height. i think if your above 6" or so, its not a good seat for you, specifically for the shoulder bolsters. i can see why it is better for short people. but then again i see taniguchi using them and even though he's probably at the max height, it is still a nice seat. great for daily driving as well. REALLY comfortable. the only thing i want to get is the BRIDE back rest support thing. you can see it on the website. i feel a small gap between the seat and my lower back. i think a little pillow there would make it perfect
i feel no need for a harness in the brix right now. its not setup for a 5 pt harness, but it holds so well, i dont see any need. even drifting, i am firmly planted. its like riding in a bucket.
ill get 2 eventually, one for each side. i hate mismatched stuff (like wheels..bleh). too bad some of my "heftier" friends wont fit as comfortably. haha..
some peole get one brix one ergo
bleh. ergo sucks. i sat in it, i dont like t. i'd buy an SRD before id buy an ergo (cost wise). im going 2 brix.

Does the huge side bolster make getting in/ out of the car difficult?...especially with the Nardi sticking out with a spacer?
it look mad nice tho!!!
Dousan_PG
06-26-2003, 02:55 PM
no not at all. slide in slide out
really easy
i dont move my seat location too. its not as bad as a bucket is. i used to have a sparco one...THAT was a pain
these bolsters are perfect height for getting in and out and still enough for holding you well.
extremely well designed!

some peole get one brix one ergo
bleh. ergo sucks. i sat in it, i dont like t.
Sucks seems like a drastic word.
Curious what you didn't like about it.
The Ergo is basically the Brix with less leg bolstering. Seatbacks are the similar - little less shoulders, little more side bolstering.
I got the Brix for the driver, the Ergo for the passenger - and a Zeta II for the occasions when a relclinable is just not allowed. Options baby, options.
Dousan_PG
06-26-2003, 03:52 PM
but i know why you got ergo and i agree 100%!! I would do same for that reason but...the other demands a brix! haha
ergo is too SRDish for me. i'd jsut save the few hundred bucks adn go SRD...that is if we are talkign retail prices...
otherwise i'd take ergo
but the average joe pays retail so save the $$$ and go ergo.
yoru ZETAII is soooooo nice. mm mm mmmm

There is a red and two types of black. The orginal Black seat with white/grey pattern and the new black on black with black stitching.

the black on black is much better in person
at first in pics i was like..eh so boring
but when i saw it in person...wow i like it alot
but the red got me good. im hooked! its either red or black grey (because all my interior is black grey) but for the color im paiting my car...red it will be (no the car will not be red too hahaha)! :)

You know how I operate - trying to be subtle in my statements.
Everybody who sits in the car says, "holy s h i t" these seats feel good.

you have the buckets right? how are those for daily/long trips?
i might have to buy a bucket if i don't fit in the brix
Dousan_PG
06-26-2003, 06:15 PM
his bucket seat is TINY
u should try the zeta III pruto
its REALLY nice and made for wider people (no offense. i dont want to see you crammed into a small seat) check the zetaIII seats! REALLY nice!

I drive with the Brix reclineable on a daily basis. I have the bucket so that once I have a cage in the car, I can race with certain organizations that won't allow a reclinable seat. It only takes a few minutes to swap the seats because I have rails on all my seats.
Actually, I can use the Zeta II because i'm really thin. For a normal individual I would recommend the Zeta II Type L.
I've tried both the Zeta III and the Zeta II Type L and the Type L definitely will accomodate a larger person. It's back is sigificantly taller too, making the shoulder areas sit in the appropriate spot.
If they made a Zeta III Type L, I would say go with that (the Zeta III is really nice) - but they don't - so go with the Zeta II Type L.
My two cents.

The only thing I hate about seat shopping is find seats to try out.. There's no way I would buy a seat without trying it first.
