:bash: One question....Why? Why in the world is a BMW using a nissan engine. What is the world coming to. All I have to say is BMW.... BMW engine. Call me a bit of a purist on that end of things. If you got a 325 with a six swap an M5 engine in there that would be really cool then.

I'm guessing he did it because he lives Thailand.

If you look closely, you can see it's RHD.

So a large motivation may have been that the SR is going to be ALOT cheaper to maintain in Asia then an imported Beemer motor.

Yes, I'm sure it's RHD, take a look:

The SR into civic has been done, search and you'll see a topic or two on it. Caused quite a ruckus.

Yet again people complain about swaps, but what if this guy just really knows nissan and happened to want a 4 door project car, and a 4 door rwd bimmer works right. And its a common easy to find car.

I say good job to this guy for doing it, although I do agree an M3 or M5 engine woul dhave been a better competitor for the engine bay, but to each his own.

I thought these BMWs w/ sr20dets were in Malaysia?? Wasn't there a big post a LONG time ago with pictures of them during the process? ie. dash out, TONS of wires everywhere, everything really dirty, etc.

Why put a Nissan Engine in and then put "Powered by BMW" on you wind shield?

I was thinking the same thing. I think the driver is on his way to making a more reliable BMW...with Nissan parts :boink:

i've heard about that one before. if i remember right it was a horrible underpowered 318i. so the guy wanted something with more power so he opted for the sr. and the guy who owned it before him had the powered by BMW sticker on it. i swear i remember this story from somewhere

So thats where all the SR20's are!!
Thats why they are harder to find(at least for me), they must be at the warehouse, at the warehouse.

looking at the steering wheel, i hope it wasnt a real alpina bimmer...that would be a true disgrace. alpina may not be the fastest types of bimmers, but they have great styling and quality that is hard to find...
