I am have just regular tires and I was wondering what "Directional" tires are ?, Are they bad to have on the Nissan 240 ? If not a bad thing would they be better on the front or back or would it matter ?

They are the right way but the mechanic told me to get them off !, so what should I do go buy other tires ?
There is nothing wrong with directional tires… As dousan36 said… Now the only thing I would think of is are they worn down? Or a cheep brand… Other then that… You tech is a tard.
It is however harder to rotate you tires. But as long as you keep them in check you wont need to sweat it too much.
I have the Sumitomo HTR Z II - Size 205/45WR16 Blackwall... I like em allot... Though they do look kind of "stupid" being such a low profile. I'll go with the 205/50WR16 next… And they are 79$ each at www.tirerack.com
EDIT: Spellchecker <-- so people don't get mad at me :)

205/55-16 is the correct size.
Directional means the tread points only one way... it's designed to only rotate one direction. Performance tires are usually directional.
Directional Yokohama AVS ES100:

It doesn't necessarily mean the tire is better or worse, it's just design. It does prevent you from rotating tires side to side (but you can still rotate front to back).
