Stock TB - #13522317
RNN15 70mm TB - #13522318

OK guys and gals... This is a Large purchase for most... so lets review and discuss this item in detail. Dyno Charts (before/after), stock TB v:s 70mm, Issues, Problems, etc...

Currently I have heard only a few issues and they seem rare, or just lacking detail.

1. 70mm version hits the fuse box? S14SR in S13 maybe? custom piping?
2. Injector collars push out and cause lean out? with Greddy Rail, Stock Rail, or Custom? Wrong injectors?

Personally, I will be picking one of these up soon, however I will not be able to review for awhile. Also my engine will be full built before ever being run so I wont have a good comparison.

My 'theory' of to why it exploded was that the big intake gromets popped up around the injector, causing it to go lean. Wideband was perfect mid 11's all the time. I ended up getting a special cover for the greddy rail and haven't had an issue since.

You can see something similar being used in the first post picture of the Fuel Rail !!!

make it VS. the older greddy intake manifold as well.

With traditional fat body MSD style, or OEM style, this is not an issue (the gromets). On my car, I'm using a Seimens 60lb injector:

so securing those gromots was an additional concern for me.

Sorry for being misleading with that post from a while ago! Thanks for the PM too :D

(I'm unsure of the major differences between this and the regular S13 one...this seems to be s14 sr20 specific?)

I have the slim ID1000's and the grommets looked like they were'nt up to the job, so I used the oem grommets along with the little o-rings that came with the injector.+

I'm using the New Version S14/15 Greddy Intake (Like pictured by the OP) with the 70mm Tomei TB.

I have pics on another thread, but it was extremely close to the fuse box, for the IC piping I cut the greddy piping and turned it towards the manifold, chopped the light bend on the end off and added 3 inches to the front, works great.

Question:

I am using the greddy fuel rail as well, but the pics you posted seem to have a bracket that its mounted to or something, whats that ?

I did this as well, but still had an issue of them popping up. Initially I used a bumper washer and a spacer below the connector but it wasn't really up to snuff. Makign that little plate, solved all of the issue

Explain the plate, where is it going exactly ?

The plate essential holds the rubber gromets in place, while allowing thei njectors to sit in it. This keeps the gromet from blowing up around the 'thin' injector.

I will be buying the short port Greddy for my S14 SR soon, I will be using my SARD 550 top feeds and top feed rail, Ill keep updated here.

Glad this caught on... Lets Clear one thing up so it doesn't get misleading!!

The "Plate" is only needed when using "Skinny style" Injectors!!
The "Plate is NOT NEEDED... on "FAT or Stock Type" Injectors!!
Correct??

Ok I see, thats a damn great idea, I haven't had the problem on the s14/15 greddy version 2 intake.

I also ran the fuel pressure up to 100psi when we were on the dyno and they didn't move, however this is a great solution.

OK so the Plate issue is resolved... lets move on.

Questions:

1. The Cold Pipe hits the Fuse Box... s15specR mentioned cutting the IC pipe... anyone with a better alternative.

2. Any Dyno results (Before and After)

3. Any Dyno comparisons from Old Long Style v:s New Short Port

quick question... maybe a stupid one but it looks like the plate is welded on and then screwed on. i guess to make it as flush as possible to hold the gromets in place?

I think its actually a strip from runner to runner so you have something to fasten the plate to, may be wrong though.

The bars acrtoss the ports are welded, and then tapped to hold the upper plate into them with the screws. This way i Avoided the gromets form burning (from the welder) and in the event one ever rips, I can still service them by removing the upper plate.

Shift the fuse box further up the guard....this is what I did when I fitted my hypertune plenum.

That is a nice mod. I have 96lb msd injectors and the pintle cap was about 13mm so I never had any problem with the insulators. Plus the body of the msd injectors are larger as well.

I honestly thought finding Injectors was going to be a simple point and buy.

The Fuel Rail with this Manifold requires a 10.5 mm Top Feed and is suited for Greddy/ Nippon Denso Injectors. However... I don't think a 720cc is going to cover my needs, and 1000cc is a bit much. I would rather stick with the Fatty Injectors then make modifications to the Manifold. Custom RC Injectors???
Going on a SR22 w/ GT3076.

Figure a 3076 will support what? 450-500 whp? 720 should darn near be at their limit around 500 hp, so it would be a tough call. IN this day and age, going with a 96lb or 1000cc injector isn't a bad idea, as they can eaisly be tuned/driven now...this can't be said for a few years back, but now they are tame.

With that saide, maybe RC offers an 8xx CC injector? Even still I'd go for the 96lb/1000cc for anything north of 500 hp.

Yeah, I defiantly wanted to be in the 8##cc range... I really don't want to push more then 500 hp but the option is great.

I guess 1000 cc would be safe also if something stupid like a slight injector clog, etc... hrrmmm
