is it the four screws on the brackets around the ecu, becuase those damn things are a bitch. is there any easier 3way to get it out so i can see if my ecu is throwing any codes?

What year do you have?

For my s14 - theres 3 screws and a 10mm(if i remember correctly) bolt, for the bolt you will need a deep socket.

I didn't see any other way to check for codes since the side you need is on the inner side, get a nice screw driver and put some muscle into it.

Don't use a srcewdriver there a good chance you'll mess up the bolts,there a good chance that those bolts haven't unscrewed so they will be hard. Get a rachet it will be much easier.

I recently checked my ECU and those screws were pretty tight
and Popey is right they are 10mm.

2 screws on my s13 (92)
top and bottom of ecu. always use the 10mm socket, screwdriver sucks
