I have the epic clunk when I brake or accelarate heavily. What is involved when installing spacers? Just removing the nut and installing spacer?

Should I use aluminum spacers or poly urathane?

Very easy install. One of my first mods, before I even really new much about working on cars.

Get the SPL aluminum spacers....it DEFINITELY eliminates the slop from braking/accelerating, where you feel like the rear end is separated from the rest of the car.

VERY easy install.

Literally just have to jack up the car a bit, loosen the subframe nuts/bolts and put the spacers in, then retighten.

Difficulty 3/10

the spacers may not help
depending on the condition of your subframe bushings
I went through the same thing: heavy clunking on decel and chaning gears
and tried spacer and pineapples I had laying around to no avail
when I finally decided to get solid bushings and dropped the subframe install them
I found the bushings were completely thrashed and the metal sleeves pretty much
just danced around the subframe
keep that in mind and good luck

I have a feeling that the spacers may not work either. The body has 250K miles.
