Lug Nut Verification Assitance Needed

So when i bought my car it came with about or 5 different types of lug nuts. Most of which were forced on and stripped the threads on both the stud and lug. Luckily i have extra studs!

With that being said i have narrowed down the correct ones i need. Went to a few places they all said something different. Which lug nuts do you think i should use? they are both the same thread pitch but one is longer and doesnt bottom out onto the rim (atleast i dont think so). Now on to the pics

if you "think" its the right one you wont be helping me. i drive a considerable amount daily (roughly 150 miles) and i keep this car all oem spec even oil filters.

I dont get what youre asking. Which lug nut to use? Just get something with the right thread pitch 12x1.25. Any autoparts store such as autozone, pepboys, kragen should have them.

So, your wheels are mag shank?

If they really are mag shank, I hope they're also hub centric.

We need a close up picture of the lug nut mounting surface to help you. Most wheels are acorn seats... But I don't recognize those wheels, and the nuts you posted are mag shank.

Actually, the lug on the right looks A LOT like an OEM Toyota lug. Is it 12x1.5?

OEM lug nuts are usually rounded at the seat.
Autozon, Kragen, ect... They don't carry them.
If you have stock wheels, go to the dealer and get them there.
Anything that's not OEM rounded, will damage the wheel, seize on, or
wont be able to get torqued down properly.

Yes they are hubcentric rims and yes they are oem. Well atleast they do say Nissan engraved on them.

As for the lug i dunno where its from. i dunno where any of them are from haha. Could be toyota but i cant read the dimensions on any of them due to scratchs n rust n ghettoness.

Funny how i have like one of each on my car from those different types. But yes according to your chart and the majority of the ones i have they are mag shank.

Now time to figure out if the shorter shank is better than the longer shank:rofl:

The flat part of the lug needs to bottom out on the wheel. If you get enough thread engagement with the shorter ones, they're more likely to work.

But are you sure those lugs are correct for the wheel? Just because the majority of the LUGS are mag style, doesn't mean mag style is correct. Ya dig?

sounds like you need beveled lugs.
Basically stock, auto zone will work.
I drift on auto zone lug nuts.
they are fine.
Ask em what lugs you need for the rims.

I would take it to a tire place and ask them.
I know the rims i used to run needed beveled and shanked lugs.

If it is shanked.....
As long as the shank isnt long enough to touch the rotor, it should seat fine.

S12 I think as well.
Think the 510 guys call em snowflakes, right?

Conical seat is by far the most common one, and castro is right, that's what is stock on S13's.

I've never seen an OE Nissan whee that uses anything else, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

yea i did a little digging apparently they are s12 snowflake rims.

very wierd considering i bought this from some old guy with 70k and he was the only owner. i wonder if it was a dealer option or someone did a quick switcharoo on him.

anyway before it dumps snow ill try and get a better picture of where the lug sits in a little bit.

ok so the pics suck ass and you cant see it very clearly. but there is no taper on where the lug sits by the rim it is flat. and seems it needs a washer.

You've already been given the answer, can you not read?

OE Nissan wheels = conical seat lug nuts.

Mag style lug nuts are used on wheels without a tapered hole, as clearly shown in the diagram. Your wheels do not have a tapered hole. Can you not look at your wheels and figure that out?

And why would you think a dealer would fit old stock wheels on a new car? Clearly the owner put them on at some point.

calm ur titties yes i did look at the diagram and there is no notch or seat where the lug would seat it is completely flat which i already said (and is shown in the pic). so we agree there.

they are oe nissan rims just from a different car. so w.e.

I do have 3 conical lugs on there already but they dont fit correctly. they only thread on about 2 turns. the shaft needs to sit inside the rim.

my original question was which of the 2 lugs i pictured should be used or would be more towards oe.

anyway i ordered a set of the ones to the left in my original pic with washers because i know the world cares.

those are oe nissan s12 snowflake wheels for a base model, turbo model ones are polished. same wheel though., anyone telling this guy to use any lugnut is a fool. you will rip your wheel off using a standard 240 one

he needs the mag style hex nut with the washer as shown in the diagram above
