Hey guys, the MHT Chicane wheels have finally been announced for production!
So, I need some input from you guys.
So far, they have been approved in 18x9 and 18x10 sizes.
Your choice of 4-lug or 5-lug.
Standard offsets will be 0 and +15, but you will be able to order them in whatever offset you want.

Finishes are tentatively as follows, with the possibility of some special order limited editions if there's demand for it.

Face finish: Hyper silver, hyper gold, gloss white, matte black, gunmetal/machined(Yurikaze spec)

lip finish: polished or machined.

Special editions (extra, and limited production) "Noir" (satin black face, satin black lip, orange lip stripe, orange "Noir" spoke graphic) "Blizzard" (White face, white lip, reflective silver lip stripe)

In addition, there will also be a sister wheel to the Chicane, called the Slalom,
which will be a mesh based off the Chicane forging, so if you are wondering, then yes, it is going to have the same deep concave face, and decent lip.

Face finish: Hyper silver, hyper gold, gloss white, matte black, matte gunmetal, black/machined
lip finish: polished, machined.

Special Editions: (extra, and limited production) "SE" (matte silver face, matte silver lip, red lip stripe, red "Slalom SE" lip graphic.) "GTC" (black face, Gold chrome lip, black "Slalom GTC" lip graphic"

Construction is going to be forged centers with forged lips, so these are going to be great wheels, not anything like a Sportmax or Rota cast wheel.

In addition to the two 18" styles, there will also be two 15" styles with many of the same options.

One will be called "Manta" and will be a 15" version of the slalom.

Face finish: Silver, gold, black (standard), white, red, or black/machined (extra)
Lip finish: polished (standard) or machined (extra)
Center cap: Retro or modern
Special editions: "RS" (black center, black lip, purple lip stripe, purple lip "Manta RS" graphic)

The other will be "Aerodrome" and will be a 15" turbo style wheel.
The Aerodrome is meant to appeal to euro guys.

So, what do you guys think?
There is eventually going to be a website that you can build your custom version and order it, like you can with Puma or Nike.

There is still some development going on before pricing can be finalized.
As for the 15's, so far there is going to be 15x7 and 15x8.
The line can expand if there is the demand for it however.

As for availability, You will be able to order them exactly how you want once the site goes up, and they will be shipped directly to you, from the factory. ;)

It heavily depends on the type of look you're aiming for.

I run 17x9 +5 3.5* camber for fronts with zero issues. Easily able to run 17x9 +0 if I bothered rolling my fenders.

Rears, I've seen people get away with 17x10 +15 with hammered flat fenders.

I personally like a bit of stretch and camber. Nothing over the top.

MM clearance between tire and fender make panties drop.

Updates on the situation;
MHT is currently developing the new 15" forging, so in a while we should start to get an idea of what the Manta and Aerodrome wheels will look like.

I haven't actually worked at MHT full time since 2008.
I'm helping them on this project, and am super stoked about it, because I'm actually approaching it as a car enthusiast in the scene, rather than from a company standpoint.
It's a lot of fun.

Design-wise, I expect in the future you'll start to see my design-work branch out to videogames and movies in addition to the aero and wheel design I have done.
I'm almost halfway through my second term in the Entertainment Design program at Art Center, and this is a really exciting time in my life.

I want to thank you guys all, it's because of people constantly asking about the Chicanes that they are finally being made, so thank you everyone!
I'll keep you all updated as the process continues.

the only thing your right about is that Rays Engineering is a powerful name, but forged wheels are forged wheels so the pricing will be almost the same. we can't compare one piece wheels, if u want an estimate on the prices look up various two pieced forged wheels and then find a mean of how many prices you found. if anything, it might be cheaper for the first few months/years of production and then it'll reach equilibrium prices... maybe lol.

I would expect people to buy this, it has lip and concavity, they're not mustang reps lol, turn around and shipping rates will be a bit cheaper and faster

For those of you concerned about the quality of the wheels, in addition to its own brands, MHT is also the company that Adv.1 and Vorsteiner use to build their wheels, so its not just bling stuff.

Right now, the wheels are still being engineered for maximum strength and weight reduction, and sizes are being finalized for launch.

If there's any other questions, I'll attempt to watch this thread the best I can, and answer you guys. :)

Hi everyone. I don't want to give any more promises as to when these wheels are getting produced, because everytime I am told there are, I share it with you, and then something happens that sets them back, and I look like a total idiot and hide myself from the rest of Zilvia out of shame.

All I can say is this summer there is going to a be a big push towards something.
I don't know if the Chicanes will make production, but there will be stuff that will be similar, and I'm being brought in as a consultant, so I will definitely let your concerns and wants be known. As soon as stuff starts to happen, you guys will be the first to know since Zilvia's always been like a second family to me.

I've also got a new project that I might build up around a set of new wheels (if they get built.) It's an S-chassis, but a very rare beast, there's probably under 10 of these left on the west coast. Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience. ;)
