I just pulled the pistons from a 91 ka24de I just bought. They have a 05 stamped in the top. Are they stock or oversized? Thanks for the help.

maybe they're out there but i've never seen an aftermarket piston with anything on the top of one.

Usually pistons only have one marking on the top and that's to show the front. I haven't seen any markings on the top of my pistons yet. Do you have reason to believe that it's not the factory build?

is the piston made of 2 different types of metal or just one?

Thanks for your replies and help. I received this email yesterday to let me know my pistons are stock:

Hi I'm very sorry it took me so long, but I was out cutting lawns today. I have checked and they all have 05 on them but it actually looks like this: where (_) is a circle in the middle of the piston.

:Front of engine: 3 2 2 2 :back of engine:
(_) (_) (_) (_)
05 05 05 05

It is kind of like a circle indentation in the middle of the piston and then on top were the single digit numbers and then on bottom were 05. I wonder why the first piston is 3 and the rest are 2. I hope this helped you out.

Hopefully this info will help someone in the future.
