Cable here. Cable can be REALLY slow at times....but it's a combination of ppl being on and the server.

Cable at home, and it's almost always really fast, so I guess not many other people in my apartment complex are hooked up to it. Fine by me. :)

T1 at work, which in theory should be blazingly fast, but is actually slower than my home connection, since so many people are here hogging MY bandwidth!!!

At least you can look at jerky material at work, you are the guy that is supposed to be watching everyone... I have that damn firewall at my desk that keeps me from effectively postwhoring and all, if that doesn't suck enough. At school (i.e. right now) I am free to do what I please. Work & School: T1. Home: Dialup like a beeotch, and IE kicks me out of zilvia while I'm there too. I'd get a new computer, but I'm already close to selling plasma for car parts (kidding)

i forgot i have a dial up internet

i'm alway beging my brother to get dsl because the computer is his. But he feels no need for it. so i'm stuck with this.i'm always looking to improve the computer. i recently purchased Memory Blaster and i think it actually slowed the computer down. what of programs/softwares do you guys use to improve your computers?

p.s. it's a hp pavilion 524c i think... is this a good computer

I have DSL, do not like it since I am far away from the "central office". Your speed really depends on a lot of variables. My brother has the same DSL provider but in a different city and near the office. He gets 1.2M while I only get 0.2M. You guys can use this to test your speeds out:

http://bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/

I am going to get cable real soon, which is faster from where I am at. That way I can lose the required phone line as well.

work: T1 i guess. but philip i feel your pain. we have a program called "websense" that blocks basically anything interesting. ive tried using proxy servers but theyre blocked too. but i found a trick on getting into FA at least. i just type forums.freshalloy.com. and it lets me go. i guess they think "forums" is harmless. but it doesnt work with all forums :(

home: cable woohoo!
