Hey guys.

So lets be completely honest, I'm in no way shape or form qualified to work on cars. I have no hands on experience doing anything. I'm a complete and utter noob. Although not a total moron, I consider myself to be an auto enthusiast and I happen to have extensively researched the art of tuning cars.

Right now, I drive a station wagon... my mothers station wagon in fact :wtc: but hey I'm 18 and saving for my dream car. Obviously a 240sx (kouki) but a built one that I customized myself. That would be great fun. I want a manual, but hey I'm not tryin to drift or race. I have no idea what it would be like driving a car with 400whp... but it doesn't sound practical for me to drive a car with that much power at the wheels anyway lol guys, I'm trying to get a car that's classy, fast, sounds sexy, and would impress chicks.

I got a few questions concerning building the car... like where to start? This is my plan thus far.

[1] Buy car
[2] Maintenance (little craps)
- Brakes
- Brake Calipers
- Spark plugs
[3] Suspension
- Struts
- Coil overs
[4] *BUY A NEW DAILY*
[5] Install body kit
[6] Remove engine
[7] Weight Reduction
[8] Paint
- Car
- Inside
- Engine Bay
[9] Install LSD
[10] Buy RB25 engine clip
[11] Rebuild RB25 engine
[12] RB25 engine install w/ 5 speed tranny
[13] Exhaust, headers to tip
[14] Possibly turbo upgrade to RB25dett

Please note that I would have the bodykit installed in a shop. Obviously. And I'd get the car painted in the shop too. Obviously. If I studied and learned enough do you think I can rebuild the RB25 and install it with the help of one of my friends? (he's an apprentice for a car performance shop)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Let me just paint a little picture for you so you can get an idea of what I'm after. Try not to rip me to pieces, but I am of the Fast and Furious generation so my interests might be a little different than yours.

EXTERIOR: My dream s14 project car will be crisp and clean on the outside. Picture a daytona blue or silvermoss kouki with JDM aero kit and valances. The rims won't be shiny and will be either black or classy stainless steal.

INTERIOR: On the inside, the bench will be taken out. The entire interior behind the 2 front seats (leather racing seats) will be removed. I want fiberglass panels with speakers in them. The trunk will also be gutted and the subs will be there. Also I'll have sway bars and what not.

A lot of us have plans for our cars. But we don't go about making a thread for it. If you have any questions about the process involved make sure to search. There is a lot of information available about the things you've listed.

Anyway good luck on your build. Hope everything works out well.

Holy hell guys... well if you want questions...

[1] Could I do the RB25 swap with no experience and help from a few friends that know what they're doing? I've seen a DVD that shows step by step how to install.

[2] Does the process I just laid out MAKE SENSE. Should I start from the ground up when I build the car?

[3] Is daily driving a car with 400whp streetable?

240sx's don't impress chicks. Sorry. :( A nice 6 series BMW however....

Sorry to rain on your parade, but, I have to close this. I just... I just...I have to.
