I went to a local tuning shop and asked about a S13 Redtop SR20 for a 240sx Fastback. He said $ 4,700 , for a Redtop clip w/ 30K miles , labor , blitz intercooler , blitz hotpipe and bov , blitz downpipe. I was wondering if this is a good deal? Kind of hard to figure it out.

Considering their labor, all the crap that has to be done, shop time, several different people making a living and all the other horse$hit, I would say that it is a good deal overall...IF, they gurantee it, let you be there before they fire it off and don't tear the streets down with your car before you take re-delivery of it. Make sure the prices is in writing and firm for a turn key job. Will you be giving them your core? If not, you can sell it and make a few bucks. While you are at it, better invest in a new clutch.
Figure this. The clip is worth to you 2K...Okay? Labor at shop rates and knowledge. Frankly, I would not want to do one that was not mine without putting at least 3000.00 in my wallet.
I consider it a decent deal.

this is a quote from Garage Kwai , I also checked out One6 motorsports , both in Arlington Heights , I also heard A-Spec Tuning ( aka Rotary guys ) are doing the SR swaps. These swaps are getting really popular now and the demand ha s gone up.
